After the sale a bunch of people got it on my forums, so I'm hosting servers..

we got one server where everyone gives themselves all the pro items and we spawn bosses constantly and all have pvp enabled while we're fighting bosses and blow up the planet (map gets reset every week or so depending on damage) and of course we have the regular legit map where we craft stuff etc

let me know if you want to join in with us (PM me), they're passworded servers but you're welcome to bring friends.. the legit server has the only rules of don't ruin stuff, don't cheat etc

That actually seems kinda neat. I'll have to check it out one day.

I think it is funnier than minecraft. It is like minecraft+mario(and late game +lsd) :)
I have also a Terraria server, but we play seriously (exploring etc). Grats is there any way to protect against griefers? This is why I am scared of making it public. :P

It's nothing like minecraft

it's more like digdug + mario with a slight building aspect like minecraft

anyone is welcome to come join us, can host a couple hundred people pretty easy (doubt we'll ever get near that)

When my world auto saves and then auto backed up.. the backup is taken and renamed with a time stamped and saved. This way if anyone is going to explode my world we'll just find the closest backup to before that happened.

only for the legit world ofc, the other one gets destroyed pretty fast we pvp'd with dynamite for like 5 hours one time and there was almost nothing left.. lol
Also all my servers are large maps

the quality is down to lower file size, however it is still 4MB so don't look at it in mobile devices that might not be able to handle it etc

The one running Terraria? I switched it over to a laptop as it uses almost no cpu from what I saw.. it was on a 12thread 16GB of memory machine which was just wasting memory (terraria large server ate 800MB at most times) and without using cpu I find it pointless
running on a 1.6GHz duo core with 2GB of memory fine.. testing it out today but so far it sits around 2% cpu on windows 7 (32bit, comp is so bad it can't run 64bit) and no problems at all, runs just as smooth

as far as I can tell terraria server program is the worst game-server I have ever seen.. and from the looks of it minecraft is just about as horrible? the efficiency of these servers would make real games ignite the machines they run on if they were built this poorly
