I would like to switch to Linux, but something along the line of Ubuntu that is user friendly as I know nothing really of Linux. All I know is that in 1994 I told my friends that Linux will take over from windows as it is much more powerful. I have actually thought that by this time it would have been more widely used and excepted as a world wide os.
My question is this what linux edition to use as I`m a newbie to it, what would you guys recommend? Ubunto, CentOs or something else?

Fedora, Lubuntu (lighter ubuntu), Ubuntu all work well with simba / smart on wine, ubuntu is super heavy for some reason when the cpu starts to get used a lot, it gets used a LOT.. fedora & Lubuntu have been able to run almost double the amount of simba/smarts
Debian is my favorite distro but might not be as "user friendly" but it depends what you want to do with the machine?
and as far as GUI's go pretty much all linux ones are very easy and user friendly

Anyone ever used CentOs?
E. I`m thinking of going with Linux for my main OS. Just don`t know if I will be able to use applications such as Adobe Master Suite on it.

go to the winehq's website to look up whether or not it supports those programs.
