you know what, i think i support this move by jagex, they have finally realized they cannot beat the bots, in order to get the money the bots get, they sell the gear everyone wants. Makes complete sense to me, prices of gold should drop, personally i might even buy some of the stuff. I am curious to see what they will be selling, do you guys think it will be boss armours etc?

from what the grumblings on the RS forums are saying its cosmetic items..costumes..emotes…etc…not sounding like stat gear at all..

You need RuneCoins to recolour your Comp\Max cape… RuneCoins = IRL Cash

Its probably going to start by selling cosmetics only, then slowly evolves to sell xp & armors (like how SOF does not have buyable spins when first released to ease the transition)

So what are you even saying?

By virtue of 50% of runescape being sold, they people investing in this game are expecting a return. Thus, with a decline in memberships and other forms of income Jagex are forced to add game content that will reel in the money.

The company who bought them may not care about their day-to-day activities but they certainly care about recieving the money they are expected to.

That's stupid for all the many reasons everyone has listed here and elsewhere in the many discussions about real world trading. I'm not gonna say any of cons/negs as one could argue until blue without convincing either side anything. The items they'll sell are probably gonna stay like the squeal items- mostly cosmetic; well squeal is cosmetic for the most part anyway, squeal has 'good' items too, but with the chance aspect you aren't straight up buying anything. Ruining the game by selling items has nothing to do with whether or not jagex can beat bots.
