SRL Archive - Help

Hello everyone, I've made this thread to ask from you all to answer a simple question of mine :D. Now, before anything, pay no mind to my post count.. lol I had made this account a while back but have only recently figured out the password! Well anyways….

I wish to know how is it that I can make my avatar appear on post and not only on my profile page. Is this a feature that higher ranks get or am I wrong?

If I'm not mistaken then only srl jr member+ can have an avatar..to be an srl jr member you need to have 6 months and 300+ posts.

Correct. If you donate you can also obtain an avatar for your posts.

Ah well thanks for the quick reply! One more question… lol, where and how much must I donate to obtain it? :)

Where: Click your FAQ tab at the top of the site. There is a box at the top left of the new window that says donate and a link inside saying DONATE TO SRL.

I believe $5.00 is the minimum required to get the Cash Cup and unlock an avatar. Any amount over the top is fine to donate also. Dont feel obligated to donate the minimum donate as much as you think you should.

Yeah you need to donate at least $5 bro

Ah ok, I see. Thanks bro! :)

EDIT: & Also thanks kevin33, hadn't seen your message lmao

You will get an avatar you can make about the size of Benny's and also the cash smoking the cigarette cup beside his avatar just so you know what to expect.

Yeah you'll be looking fly like me :P

Yea, so basically donate, be a Jr+ or SRL mem.
If you are just a Jr, then you have a smaller pic (Like me :( ) but if you donate it gets bigger.
Hope it helps…? :)

or you can be useful to the community - achieving different cups. lots of them out there and they all give u the ability for an avatar

Well this is odd… Ive been a Jr member quite a few years now and cant seem to get my avatar to appear. Anyone care to fill me in?
I was using scar when i got promoted to jr member. so much has changed since then.

What happens when you try to upload an avatar? Does it give you a permissions error? If so, PM hobbit, he will fix it within a day or two.

I suggest donating. It helps the site out, and you get a nice avatar and cup!

I'm well aware of what donating does for the community.
Some people give back in different ways.
Donating is a lazy way.
Not that I dont want to donate I am just unable to at this time.
I've been quite busy working on a few projects.

Anyway it doesn't give me a choice when i go to the avatar menu it just says do not use an avatar and wont let me click anything else. kind of odd cuz im certain that i use to have one few years ago.
when i came back i also had to reset my password which is strange cuz i never changed it.

Donating is far from a lazy way. We earn our money by working. It's hard earned money and is not unappreciated when donated.
It's just a easy way to give back to the community if you're unable to script.

I think you need 300 posts.

^That might be it, if not, just pm an admin. Try Hobbit or Wizzup?. Whoever is free.

I had a feeling… its OK I'm not gonna bother talking to a mod till i have reached 300 posts, it's not a big deal. Just thought it would be cool that's all.
I'm more concerned with learning pascal than anything…. even more than runescape. lol

By lazy I mean by paying money instead of developing or writing scripts.
Never said its not appreciated nor did I say I didn't want to donate.
How you got the money is irrelevant.

And my point is that it's not lazy.
I didn't say that you didn't want to donate, it wasn't even implied.
Never said it was, I was trying to explain that it's not lazy.
You pretty much insulted everyone who's a donator when you said it was lazy.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong but,
Are you that damn incompetent?, That you can't even interpret what someone is saying? I am highly against argumentative confrontations, but your ignorance is starting to annoy me.

It is lazy to pay (as a ALTERNATIVE way of contributing).
Rather than learning how to script or develop (is a way more beneficial way of giving back to the community).
If you're offended you either don't understand what I am saying or the whole reason you payed was because you dont know how to write scripts.
If you do need help with scripting feel free to contact me or many other members that will gladly assist you.
I wasn't trying to offend anyone.
Have you read the leach forum?
Paying just because you dont know how to script is in there if I'm not mistaken.

I'm sorry.
I appreciate your offer of help.

Just saying that's what leaches do, And it IS extremely lazy.
This whole community is open source for good reason… To educate in order to devote to stronger more resilient scripting. We are all here to help each other(at least that's how its supposed to be) Maybe I just wasn't being clear enough.

Really bro…Really?
Leo tried to stop the argument, and you just keep it going.

In no way what-so-ever is it lazy, even compared to scripting and such. Easier doesn't mean lazy. We don't do it cause its easy, we do it cause we want to and no other reason. (Plus it helps, probably more than scripting sometimes)

Try to be a little less cold-hearted in this community. Think before you speak(Or type).

Don't worry Leo, I got yo back!

Thank you and have a nice day,
~Joey

Edit: this was my 669th post!

This thread sort of died, but hey, where else would I post?

Does anyone know the exact size limits for each level of avatar size? I'm making one for myself now and don't want to have to mess around with the proportions later.

And size as in pixels, as well as storage size (if that is a limit). And are there any rules about gifs?

Thanks

I'm not too sure I think for donator it's 130x130, but I wouldn't swear to that. I only had the donator cup for maybe a week or so prior to getting members in which I assume it would have increased again?

Your's is 120 x 120 though

That's because I made it from a signature I made which was 450x120, so I just made it a square from the sig.

Ok, thanks for your help :)

Since when does SRL (junior) member grant a bigger avatar, I thought it was related to the cups you got.

This I don't know as I was never a junior member. But I don't really know the specifics of which upgrades give extra benefits to your avatar or not, just speaking from previous experience of my own
