I am curious which font is which for CharsNPC and UPChars. I'm working a font set and I'm not sure which would be which for it, like would UPChars be the text before the text saying what your mouse is hovering over?

Also, if there are no differences between these fonts, which I think there may not be, I don't need too font sets right?

One more thing, Do I need to keep the shadow like what is used for the official RS font sets?

What do you need it for? I don't know if you need both fonts.

Upchars are use for the text you see in the upper left corner.

I believe the other is used in the conversations with NPCs in your chatbox,

It is for soulsplit rsps. I think it would be beneficial to myself and many other people here interested in scripting for it if we can get the fonts.

It seems it may be that way since they look pretty similar as of now.

Seriously, what is with the sudden influx of people that are super interested in 'Sousplit' to the point of botting it…
It's a private server… Isn't the point of it that it it meant to be far easier than legit rs to achieve things, easy enough that bots are not required/useless?

Or is one of those ones that is very similar to real rs just preserving the 'good' updates and having a very similar exp multiplier?

OnTopic: NPC chars are the ones in a conversation in the chatbox on your lower left, Up Chars are the ones on the upper left whenever you hover over an object.

Thanks for the clarification on the fonts :)

On the soulsplit note, I checked it out after so many people seemed to be making scripts for it and such. It is an older version and there is a choice for the xp multiplier with rewards for the lower ones that you receive from things like better PvM drops and such. Basically, the better characters will have very similar xp rates with the official runescape.

What I have found with the server is that it provides a pretty harmless way to learn scripting for the official runescape. There are less things you have to account for, and it is easy to learn the basic scripting for it.

Also, not matter what you are playing no one wants to do the boring tasks. Botting will always provide the easiest/laziest way to make money and get levels no matter what you are playing, so why not take advantage of this if you have the ability to do so?

EDIT: I finished making the font for the uptext, but how do I go about using it for things like object finding?

Still wondering if anyone can help me with using the Fonts.

Wizzup?

You should check some of the SRL code, how they work with fonts and Simba's text function. The documentation on the OCR may also be useful. http://docs.villavu.com/simba/scriptref/ocr.html

You should probably ask a bit more specific questions. Like: Given a font I created (link to the font set somewhere), how can I have it identify characters on this picture (link to picture)?

I think if you rephrase you question it might get more responses. I know exactly how the fonts work, but I don't feel like giving a tutorial about them. So here is a very short explanation. If you want more info ask about a specific part of it.

Simba exports a few functions to support character recognition. It is called OCR (Optical Character Recognition). The two most important functions for finding text are: GetTextAtEx and GetTextATPA.

The big difference between the two is that the first one searches for the text on screen and the second one will search it in a 2D array of points. The strong point of the second one is you have more control over which points are used in the text and which aren't

You can load a font with LoadFont and free it with FreeFont.

Where do you have problems with?

Edit:
I am not sober, but I am less intelligent when sober anyway.

Thanks on helping me get help :P

I didn't really know that I needed to be more specific lol. What I am looking to do is to use object finding to talk to an NPC, assuming that is how it is done. I created a font set of the uptext for the private server. What I don't know how to do is call that font set to be used with functions like FindObj, etc.

I tried use LoadFont, but that didn't seem to work right, and I also took a look at the actual object finding functions to see if the problem wasn't my font. The font set is in the Fonts folder in Simba, and I created .bmp files for all the upper and lowercase letter for the uptext and assigned them numbers based on the dec whatever (forget what it is called in the tutorial I used).

When using object finding, the mouse moves to the color, but does not continue the procedure, so I am assuming that is a problem with the uptext.

In a nutshell:
How do I call the font set I am using?
How do I use it with object finding?
Can all the uptext functions in SRL be used by simply using this new font set?

The uploaded file is all the characters I made in paint. I separated them into their own files for the font set, but that is what they look like.

EDIT: This is unrelated, but what exactly is a TPoint? Is it simply just a single point, like a coordinate?
