Just a thought
Since the summer is here and Ive been in a good mood recently, I was wondering if you guys would like to have a drop party. I obviously would be dropping items, and if anyone else wants to pitch in, feel free to.
Again, this would just be open to the SRL community.
So the question, Would you like to see a drop party for the SRL community?

While I think it's a cool idea, I think there are some problems that could accompany it (some rs mod with an account finding out). No need to get members banned for autoing and this is a good way to have all the eggs in one basket so to speak.

Having said that the chances of that are pretty low I believe, I like the idea, and I do wish we were able to do more community events.

It was just an idea I came up with. I guess some could say its a "giving back to the community" since we use the scripts here and arent able to give back to the developers since selling scripts is prohibited here. But there are more script users > scripters, so I dont think that would be a valid reason, but I think you get to what I mean :)

hmm this does sound good but an opportunity for a mass ban perhaps..

Just because you show up to a drop party is not proof that you auto on an account….what if you just happened to be walking by and hear/see items? Are you autoing? NO


I support this idea, we should do more community events

Host one and i'll probably contribute some items up to 20m total in drops.

This sounds really fun (I used to be in a drop party fc and used to host some too) and i would love the community feel. Also there isn't a chance of us getting banned because we could just be walking around and just come across this drop part ;]

What abu said IS true. So to prove him wrong just post the time zone and maybe the other time zones that would need to correspond.
I would be attending- but for future references to the word "drop party", I should be informed so I can join in all of them!
I literally camp W1 for dps… I make around a mil a day.
And the drop party should be f2p.

I believe everyone here would be up for an in-game meet up or party, but it all boils down to a security risk for us all.

I say someone post this thread in the members section and give Jakee access to it. Then we will have very little risk of security.

Well if everyone is up for it…Im down as long as its f2p because I am f2p only. I will use an account I dont care much about to be safe though :)

Yeah it would have I be in a f2p world since that would only be fair.
And the poll is open till July 15, I'll decide on the decision from the results till then. Keep posting ideas guys :)

That pretty much sums up my thoughts about it though. Its a shame.

I guess if we are all on nub/mule/fresh accounts then it would at least be a little safer. I think it would be pretty cool

I dont mind and if it happened i will contribute also
i was thinking of pming ppl who i used there script and pay them for the help i got from them as thank you is not enough for these great ppl

but really, would it be that much of a risk? aslong as were not saying simba drop party err somthing like that…

How about F2P, and then a P2P? Sounds better to me

Had requirements for people to access to the drop party thread. Like whoever that solves a script's antileech or something :p

Would this work out? Some user had a thread about how he couldnt transfer gp to an account he made after november 2011, so im guessing that dropping it wouldnt make a difference since it wouldnt show up for us? i havent tested it.

I might go on a secondary account, but as for going on my main, not going to happen.

The reasons for this have already been posted.

True story. Newer accounts have trade limits, so it would need to be a secondary account that the owner knows has access.

Again while I think it's a bit of a risk, I'm willing to take it. I only involve myself with rs for the sake of this community anymore anyway, so who gives a damn if I get banned on one account, besides, like we said the chances of this are super low.

The time zones is a real issue though, if you look at the map of members in the general section, you'll see we are all over the place.

Years ago Jagex was more ban hammer happy IMHO, but this is troubling to hear…

note that most old time and higher ranked members doesn;t play rs

To be honest, as long as your RS username is not the same as your SRL Username, then they can't track you down thus have any proof you have been botting with Simba.

Didn't forget about this thread. Still debating whether or not of I should just do a giveaway to the community (specific members) or stick to the DP since the majority of the poll says yes.

Yea, sounds like an interesting idea :p, I don't see how it would be a security risk if everybody comes on a side account. Even if we did come on our main we couldn't get banned, not enough evidence for anything and there would probably be people there not from srl anyways lol, don't think they'd get banned

I'd say most of us non srl members with 50+ non trolling posts are trustworthy enough ;), but Yeah I think the dp if you had one shouldnt be for people that have a low post count or haven't contributed much. I know I haven't contributed much myself so you could exclude me if you wanted :p
