Basically the divine spirt shield will have the same stats and absorbtion as the elysian and arcane. Spectral spirit shields will have NO effects, it will just be a 75 defence shield. Arcanes are sky rocketing after this was announced, divines and elys continue to crash along with spectrals.

Mod Pi confirmed earlier today that each of the Spirit Shields will have their stats changed.

- Divine, Elysian and Arcane all reduce all incoming damage by 30% and subtract half of this reduced damage from Prayer (15% of original hit). They all work like the divine in real runescape does. They soak attacks of all styles (arcane is the shield for mages, and it soaks ranged, melee, and magic.

- Divine is the shield for melee users, Elysian for rangers and Arcane for mages. Aside from the combat triangle, they are all equal.

- Their soaking effects do not work if you are wearing any items aside from the shields. This is a known bug.

- Because damage is much higher now, the shields can clear your prayer extremely quickly, but I expect that this will be balanced later.

- Spectral is a magic shield and it does not have any effects.

100% confirmed than arcane = divine = ely for specific classes.

Its stupid stuff like this that makes me wonder if Jagex thinks before it acts…

LOL I sold my two arcanes.. Good thing I don't care much for RS anymore. I don't see why it's going to go up though. Just makes every noob rich and what not.

I already knew since the first day of the Beta that the shields were going to split. Why? Because the guys who give armour out at lumbridge had them split into sections.

Only the mage guy gave the arcanes, the melee guy gave only divines and the ranger gave elysians. Spectral wasn't given at all.

Most of the weapons and armour in the game with similar/duplicate stats are going to be re-categorized.

I've never bought the nex armours and stuff but they're going to go up too. They give more than 3k extra HP in combination with the bandos shield + the extra Def the armours give. So if you're rich already, ur lucky since you will always have an advantage over less fortunate players when it comes to combat.

I have yet to test out the hybrid armours.
