For people without access to the Beta, i'll make vids documenting this :D

Possible change to srl:
1:Gametab.simba will definitly change.
2:Need support for quickbar. With addition of getting the hp percent available from attack tab.
3:IsInFight is now SUPER EASY as the attack tab tells you if you are infight or now.
4:Eat can now be done in quick bar.
5:Casting prayer can now be done in quick bar.
6:Casting magic can now be done in quick bar.
7: Equipping armour can now be done in quick bar.

Oh, no :p I logged in at daemonheim in F2P and all of the MM colors were… more extreme. Brights were brighter, darks were darker.

Well, I'm more surprised that the game actually allows you to have 2! It seems like one of those things that you're only allowed to have 1 of at a time. If you fully charge both of them, do they stack in your bank? :garfield:

Yup, if they're the same charge they stack.

For those of you wondering about the emails, the real official email from Jagex just tells you you're in.

Don't need to follow any links or anything, beta access is all from the RS site.

A bit too laggy for me now, I'll give it a proper run through when the servers have settled down a bit.

Honestly, I've been playing Diablo 3 since it came out. I thought to myself a lot "Man, runescape would be so much better if we could click a keyboard button to eat or drink a pot…"

I think I'm going to fully enjoy this update. Not that I play that much anymore, but it's just so much better and makes SOOOO much more sense.

I can't wait to get off work and try it. I'm only able to run scripts while at work ;)

You can make smart Load that as temporary parameters and update whatever you want.

And just so you know, Simba 0.99 breaks SPS so either way, with/without this update, SPS will still be broken.

I'm maxed :P My entire friendlist of maxed chars got in but the non maxed guys never did. Also my membership ran out before the update.. I bought a new one and logged in and it somehow still has me down for the beta lol.

Also you cannot talk without clickign your name.. So if you just start typing, it does nothing. You have to click your player name to talk. Dunno if that affects fixed mode but in fullscreen you must click your name.

Cheers, for that info :). Anyway its fair enough though, Jagex obviously wants proper feedback, and who better to choose than players who are experienced with the game and know what to do.

Yeah I got picked so its not just maxed accounts! I'm only 131 but an ancient player? Oh wells :).

I wish you could play beta and bot the account on the regular servers at the same time!

Unless its player vs player I can see that happening, and they better log how much hit you hitted.

My summoning tank got chosen aswell, one of the lowest levels I've seen so far (83 combat with the new system) :P

Scripts like Riwu's DomDag would die so fast… It appears that xp gain is much greater though. Each monster gives quite a large hunk.

It's the same as the old combat really.. I just teleport group EVERYONE in world 201 to ice plateau where we all had a brawl in torva, armadyl staff, pernix, virtus, all brews, yaks, titans, restores, ovl's.. And we all got adrenalines maxed.. Meh the Dual Rapier doesn't hit aas much as u guys think. Neither does the LS or the bow. Pures aren't totally ruined either. But defence would help quite a bit and a balanced account gives sorta an advantage. I saw a couple pures still having some fun.

The combat is essentially the same because you have 9190 hp. So a hit of like 2k is barely anything. Food heals 10x as much. OVL's only boost you to 116 in stats, not 125. Dragon fire (iron dragons) hit you 2150 dmg. Dual rapier hit on them I maxed at 900 no pot. Dual ls maxed at 2120 on them. Sometimes I seem to hit near 3k dmg but that's not very much.. I also tried armadyl GS, it's pretty good too but meh not worth shit against dual rapiers. You can't weild dual 2h's, so no cmaul or dual gs.. Nope.

You generally have around 7k hp (can't remember) at lvl 200. Nex armours give 9190 hp. The combat adjustments are going to be so friggin hard man. I don't know if I can get used to this. Even scripts will get screwed. So probably a bye bye to the waterfiends and stuff. To switch combat styles is a pain (0 with no numlock) or a quick switch (Most ppl cannot figure it out yet so when i did it, it looked like magic). When equipping weapons, u must wait 2-3 seconds or 1-2 game ticks (600-1200 ms) before you can equip another. Thus you cannot switch fast on a player. That gets rid of the PID thing.

You can't just teleport around liek the videos showed. You need adrenaline. And spell books now have everything separate so you can't just cast a spell, you have to click the right icon after hovering then find your spell by scrolling through the book.

It's a good update but it's going to be a lot of adjusting. PKing isn't going to be the same. Oh and you can bind up to 10 keys for switching weapons, tabs, etc. Basically everything is multiplied by a factor of 10. 10x hp, 10x food, 10x dmg - a ton since you can't hit 6000's yet (Not that I noticed anyone hitting over 3k) Though dmg depends on what you're mixing or using.. After al OVL's only boost to 116. But it's possible to hit over 3k as the dmg thing isn't orange.

Though you should all remember that this is just a beta.

EDIT: Some pures are bitching. Go world 66 falador and you will see some massive 1000+ pures rioting saying "Beta Not Betta/RuinScape" LMAOO. It's not that bad. Considering I was a pure one time. Pures will complain when fighting level 200's because its the biggest disadvantage but meh people against their own level will kinda be even. Damage output will matter. Defence will but not too much. Price of balanced accounts are gunna rise for all you farmers out there. Good pures will rise as well. Shit pures, bye bye.

It is said in the maxed forums that everyone gets the beta servers on a weekend. Whether or not it is true, I don't know but I have to say it's more fun. It's about time I did something other than clicking and eating a shark while fighting.

It's one of those fast combat things. Kill or get rampaged. If you're one of the guys that just likes to click a player, eat, click a player, eat.. then you're not gunna like it. But if you like strategies and combinations and what not, ur gunna like it for sure. If you have too slow of a reaction, you might not like it.

Wow… I log in and it says I got picked with my range pure that I used for the free trial and now I'm not allowed to be in the trial. Shit!

Yes, in fact that's all I have used. It might take a bit of effort to access some abilities because you have to mouse over an icon for the menu of the action you want <-wordy I know.

It's true. One of the posts on the runescape homepage said that beta servers will be open to all members on weekends starting after July 7th.

Edit: Doh! I remembered… If xp is gained by killing a monster, not damage.. what's going to happen to multicombat areas? This is basically going to promote a lot of "last-hitting" and "kill stealing" from the standpoint that I see it. Thoughts? (Especially people that have access to beta testing)

Dammit! I saw the update coming last night and went to bed haha -.- I'm in the beta now and it's pretty cool, I like the new abilities and the different advantages of fighting in different styles at once

If you didn't notice I'm in varrock with the dungeoneering spellbook in beta. Its very annoying cus I can't teleport anywhere and it won't even let me make the god damng loadstone so I can sell them for a few bucks on beta lol. I do have to say I like having hundreds of torva sets in the bank :P.

Dont play runescape anymore just bot and 5 minutes with this Combat change wont bring me back.

I was like a month and a half short of year-long consecutive membership. Got my key through the GamesRadar contest though.

I have issues with activating abilities. Most of the time I have to spam click an ability to get it to activate. Also, my keyboard doesn't work. I'm able to use my number pad, but I can't talk in the chat.

You need to press enter before talking, because all keys can be used for the actionbar now.

Hmm yeah of course the guy who has been playing since 03 and has been subscribed since 05 is left out. Makes sense.
