I recently sold some accounts to get a good amount of GP for my main.

I was looking stuff up on GE to buy, like torva, steadfast boots, virtus, all the good stuff..

and then I noticed it had all dropped like 1m each peice!

for example torva went from 569.1m to 557.4m
steadfast 37.7m to 34.9m

It goes on an on, if I would have bought all this stuff a few days ago, I would have lost like 50M over all the best gear!

So whats going on, why is everything dropping? and should I buy it now.. or wait o.o?

A combat update is coming at september and people think that all these items will be worthless then due to new gear and changes to special attacks.

The game is slowly deteriorating. More and more people are macing out thanks to the simplicity of it now (bots) and are able to go and do things like kill next and farm godwars. This results in more rares being dropped, more rares consequently being sold, better geared players, who then get maxed and go farm nex themselves. The process repeats itself.

Not to mention many players are selling their extra gear because they don't want to be left with shit that's worth 10, 20, 30% less than it should be.

Runescape's economy is going to shit. Save your rsgp, it's the only thing that's worth holding on to at the moment. Wait for bot nuke.

^ That, and a combination of two other things. Bots are basically back in action and the price of relatively new items will always drop. Generally until they hit their high alch value, which takes longer for the higher level items.

Hmm ok thanks guys! I suppose I'll pinch my little pennies and save up a bit more for 2b, and buy torva and stuff when it drops more.

What i'm afraid of though is with the new combat update, mages are suppost to be made much better to compete with the overpowerful warriors at the moment, and that virtus might skyrocket. SO maybe i'll buy that little tidbit soon x)…

The sudden price drops are 100% due to the new combat update.

its the same with d claws the street value is only 8.6M ! and AGS 17M!!
because most people think that there wont be special attacks.

Supply and Demand. Supply increasing = Price decreasing.

Prices are dropping because people think the items are going to be useless in the update. Even though special attacks are being removed the items are getting scaled pretty extreme they said, stuff like godswords etc are supposed to be insane weapons in the update and not crap anymore. Higher level gear is going to scale very well.

Last I heard the claws are still going to be pretty effective and they have an ability that can be used with any weapon.

If anything everything is going to get super cheap, update will roll out prices will flip and become extremely expensive for a while. But that just my guess and how I've seen it roll out through other games like that.

Well of course not! Less bots around collecting things we need will in no way affect how much of one item there is out there! See if there is a low supply and a high demand prices will always plummet!:duh::duh::duh:

this is the second time you have posted a thread like this, except this one does not contain the combat beta.

Items that are largely bought for their special attacks like d claws and armadyl godswords are dropping because the new combat system is removing special attacks from the game, so I'd get rid of items like that. Not sure how it will change the prices of things like potion ingredients, I guess they'll still be used.
