but i figured i'm better off coming into the community a scripter rather a leecher so skipped the intros etc.. thanks anyway, i'm thinking of idea for my new script now :)

Nice to see you're trying to get involved, but like said unfortunately this isn't an app worthy of Members. Check out this tutorial to see what you need to do :)

Yeah that script is a bit simple but good work creating a script that picks and banks! If you added in spinning, and beefed up the script a bit more you could apply with that. Keep at it :)

Well for starters, your script is very basic and it shows you could improve. Your activity is not so well and no one likes double posters. Next time please edit your previous post instead of double posting. I hope to see a better application in the future!

Script as stared is far too simple try looking into the intermediate to advanced tutorials and try to use TPA, DTM, DDTM or even radial walk those will all do your application wonders. Also activity is key try to help people and just post more around the forums (Don't spam though)

hmm, well i'm active everyday. i usually post 2-3 if not more posts every single day, usually helping people and giving advice, why are you being so harsh, the day i applied for membership was the first day i made an account on this forum and created a script on the first day. you think that is not active?

i could of just sat leeching of all the scripts and not trying to script at all, but i actually tried and spent hours of my free time reading up on tutorials and creating this script to just get nothing but negative feedback.

If you applied on your first day, then that is also not being active. There's many people that have been here for months/years…

It obviously shows your disregard for the rank. The fact that you think you can earn the title of SRL Member in a days worth of effort is insulting.

Anybody could make a script. Watch your attitude cause if you expect to get members with that attitude good luck. Just take the feedback and improve

Just to be an active part of the community, posting helpful things. Especially your script can use a lot of work, you have barely used advanced methods and that is what we are looking for in an application. You should also add failsafes for the SPS walking.

I'm going to comment on every point you have made here:

You made a script, well done, that's definitely a start. However the script you have made is very basic and I can confidently say that someone who and I quote likes 'Scripting simple games on software' and also 'got an A level in games media' can produce higher level scripts in their first attempt, so what you have applied with is nothing significant.
Furthermore, you have obviously decided to ignore numerous threads that have been created for users who want to apply for SRL Membership telling them the level of code they should apply with and have applied with a beginners script which you feel is good enough to get you SRL Membership.

You worked hard, again, well done. That's great and that's what you should be looking to do. However the SRL Member rank is a 'honorable title' and judging by your scripting ability, you haven't worked hard enough. By this I mean, you need to work hard for longer in order to make sure you have the abilities to become an SRL Member, which you currently do not have.

Well… no actually.

What I want and in fact what we want as a community, is for you to take the feedback that has been given on this thread and use is to create higher quality scripts worthy of the SRL Member rank and then apply and while doing so, don't spam post but instead help around the community and become part of the community. If 90% of the people on this site disregard you as a useful member on the forums, how can we expect to promote you to SRL Member? In order to become an SRL Member you also need to be a community member.

So yeh, take on board what has been on said and hopefully, you'll have much better chance of getting SRL Membership in your second application.

Just watch out on your attitude, being a SRL member isn't all about "being able to script", its about being active, helpful and other things.

I had a quick look over your script and noticed you are using some basic functions that are built into the SRL include. The script might function but there are betters ways of doing what you are trying to do.

Just some pointers:

• Try RadialWalking or DTM Walking
• Try not to use static waits, (eg wait(3000); could be wait(3000 + random(400)); )
• Try TPAs to find objects/npcs

Best of luck if you try to apply in the future!

You know, Me and Shay don't 100% get on. But I definitely think your attitude is disappointing :/

Throwing a hissy fit will get you no where.
Take what people have said on board and come back when you have done. If you don't want to that's your choice.

there's a difference between kind words and false critisism, i proved somebody wrong, what's not to understand?

The way you guys declined him is bad.. You guys could have just told him that you would like to see a script with more effort that shows more skill and see some helpful posts around the forum. That is all.

A lot of people apply for SRL members on the first day and it's not insulting; they just don't know any better yet.

You can easily read the thread and see what the best feedback was and who it was from.


That all being said I did not vote but if I had to, I'd vote no for the following reasons:


The script is a bit too basic. To get the members rank you have to show more skill than the next.

By next I mean the next guy. Show some DTMs, Failsafes, (TPointArrays aren't actually necessary but nice to see).

The script is almost as short as Yohojo's video tutorial which everyone who passes through almost watches and thus I cannot distinguish between voting for you or someone else unless you show more knowledge in your next app.

Attitude would be helpful. If you get a harsh reply, meh just read it for what good it is. If it's not good then just ignore it and read the rest and improve your script from the ones trying to help you with feedback.

An attitude like yours will always be remembered when you apply for Membership, so you might want to calm it down a bit and stop getting so uptight about what people are saying. You could write the best script going, but with an attitude like that I'd happily vote no.

I actually don't think his attitude is all that bad. Notice how after mine and Justin's comment he actually appreciates the positive feedback given.

No reason to add 'idiot' and I think his reaction to that sort of comment was justifiable.
To be honest, if someone called me an idiot I'd tell him I don't a give a f*ck regardless of my rank.

He's suspended because he created a rage thread in the BBQ pit and insulted a few people (after being warned).

Oh, well to be honest if he wrote that on his first day, it shows he has potential but he was mad cuz it didn't get him in

Both Justin and Gucci's posts told him where to improve. It's not like everyone just said no because he was rude. Being rude will generate rude responses.
