Pick YoHoJo an Andorid Phone!

Planning to get an Andrioid phone this summer (or perhaps a bit later if something extra spiffy is coming out).

Suggest me phones, tell me why, sell me!

More and more recently I've wondered why I have iPhone 4, I love it a lot, but I think I will love android MUCH more!

It kind of sucks some of the better ones don't have expandable memory which leans me towards the Nexus III but I like the look of nexus II much more since it's more square and less rounded.

Anywyas suggest me any put/soon to be out Android phone and why!
My serives provider is AT&T, and no I will not change it for a phone :)

Go for Galaxy SII! It is extremely fast and efficient! Pretty sure it is 4G LTE too!

Whatever you do, don't pick one that won't be receiving the latest version of android (which is 4.0 iirc). Do your research ;)

Also if you do decide on one make sure you are able to "root" that phone with the stock version of firmware!

No it isn't.

If you want a 4G andriod phone go with the Galaxy Nexus or the new HTC phone.

I've been looking for a new Android phone myself too.

Had the HTC Desire for two years, it's served me well but time for an upgrade I think.

Currently deciding between the Galaxy SIII and the One X.

The SIII seems to be just edging it for me, it is a little bit more powerful, and has a microSD slot as you mentioned.

YoHoJo

2012-06-05 01:29:05

Yeah I thought most android phones had micro sd slot but I looked at a nice comparison site and only a handful did, the 'best' one seeming to be Galady S II (III), which really wets my fanny!

I wish I could have SIII innards in SII body!

This. You should really check out Windows Phone. It is awesome and I think it will grow. Has great support on the XDA forums as well.

Mah, never heard too much about Windows phones, they seem a bit too 'new' and stuff I think I'd rather go andorid right now.

I'm looking at the SIII and the HTC One X right now, both seem great!

Im using the HTC Desire Z, I love it… semi flip-phone, touchscreen etc etc. Great for writing, games(emulators etc).

I would recommend the One X. My mother has been rocking the Lumia 900 for about three months and it is a very, very nice phone.

To be honest, I want this phone. I have an iPhone 4 right now, but my dad has the Samsung WP7 device and it is absolutely amazing.

WP7 > Android soon, read up on it, the OS is amazing.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus, pretty affordable now. On the other hand if you have more to spend you can get a Samsung Galaxy S III or a HTC One X Though :P

Yeah, manufacturers and carriers throw their own skin on them and it ruins it. Just rooting to a stock OS is what's needed.

I hated the WinMobile OS they had before, and it pretty much killed Microsofts mobile market, but the new Windows Phones are just amazing.

Why are you going from an iPhone to Android? If you don't have your iPhone jailbroken, then do it and you won't want to switch.

this.

Seriously Kyle. I use my iphone 24/7 I have more cydia tweaks then apps from the app store.

Messagelock so it require a pin to access my messages. This is a must for anyone talking to multiple girls ;)
Sbsettings is heaven on earth
I could list a billion, but seriously jailbreak if you haven't.

I've jailbroken my phone in the past, and had so many tweaks and mods done to it. After iOS 4.0 came out, I fell in love with the stock OS. I jailbroke it again to do some tweaks that wasn't native. Then iOS 5.0 launched and I'm using the stock OS un-jailbroken :p

I found that jailbreaking my phone really affected the performance of it.

idk what the heck you did to it then.
There's no performance difference if you jailbreak, unless you're making transparent themes out the butt.
I don't use any themes or custom icons etc…

Trust me, if you jailbroke and had half the tweaks i had you wouldn't consider an android or a windblows mobile phone…
Want a list of the jailbreak tweaks i currently have?

I didn't do any themes either, just tweaks and mods for the functionality of the phone. My favorite one was SSH.

Sure, I'll give it another go, but I had a ton of mods and tweaks before.

You know you can jailbreak the Windows phones, right? ;)

Here's a few of the best ones

  • Activator - Set gestures to call apps/toggle/anything
  • Auto3G - Disables 3g when locked(has many more options). Saves battery
  • CallBar - uses a bar across the top like an incoming text message instead of covering the entire screen and forcing a call choice.
  • CyDelete - Allows you to delete cydia apps in "wiggle" mode
  • Cyntact - displays contacts pictures in contacts
  • Infinidock - ;)
  • LockMessages - Puts a passcode on your messages app
  • MarkThatMessage - time stamps EVERY message
  • PDANet - Turns iphone into mobile hotspot. Prevents AT&T from detecting
  • PhotoAlbums+ - way better folder options for photos
  • Rotation Inhibitor - used with activator to change landscape/portrait mode
  • SBSettings - all settings available in a quick drop down accessible from anywhere. Also integrates with ios 5 notification center
  • Silent Vibrate SBSettings Toggle - an sbsettings toggle
  • WiFi Analyzer - sick wifi analyzer app
  • WifiSMS - Allows you to access your iphone via it's ip address in any browser from your computer(if on same network) and send/receive texts through computer. BEST FRICKEN APP for ppl like me who are on laptop all day at work :)

if you need more let me know :P

Ive got the Galaxy Note.
Its a phone definitely worth getting.
Camera is great, photos are HD and you can zoom in and out. The screen since is big and PERFECT for watching movies compared to any of the other phones. Usually you squint and can barelly see when watching movies, but with the Note the screen size is perfect. Size comes with 12 GB but can add additional storage, cannot remember what it is now…

The little pen provided is also great. Can write msgs and draw or whatever you want.

Apps are great…

Dunno, its the best phone ive ever had. Ive had the Galaxy Nexus, and this ones 10x better.

The screen size for me makes a huge difference. I would not trade up for a smaller screen at all. Up to you if you deem it too big. Id say sure see it in stores. The moment I did I knew I found the phone for me. Good luck finding the one for yourself.

Get a Nokia N9 if you can afford it. Most powerful and versatile phone I've ever seen. It's technically not Android, but it can run all of Androids apps (Alien Dalvik), and MeeGo is technically the best mobile OS ever seen by mankind.
