SRL Archive - S.M.A.R.T.

When you want to report a bug, you need to include the debug output. THIS DOES NOT MEAN TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF THE COMMAND PROMPT. You can right click the title bar of the command prompt screen and explore the options to find a way to copy the text. Post that text in a code box.

Now some definitions.
SMART is the program that opens up and shows you the RS client (which is not SMART, but the RS Client).
Simba is the program you open scripts in and run them. (SMART and Simba are entirely separate programs)
SRL is the library of functions that are used in your scripts. (SRL and Simba are separate entities, neither of which is SMART)
SMARTManager is not SMART, but a program that restarts your scripts after 6 hours (it has almost nothing to do with SMART or Simba or SRL)

Do you know how lists work? Read the following list.

1. Are you absolutely sure it's related to SMART?
People post questions unrelated to SMART while blaming SMART all the time. (see the above definitions) If there is any error message not related to SMART (e.g. DTM, syntax, random access violations, etc) DO NOT DO THIS. I personally think this should be a bannable offense on the grounds of stupidity.
2. ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE IT'S RELATED TO SMART?
This point is a lot like the last one, but in all caps. Seriously, people. BUT THERE IS USEFUL INFORMATION HERE: Just because it happens in the SMART window does not mean it is SMART's fault. The RS Client is not SMART (take that as you will). If the RS Client fucks up, e.g. gets stuck loading, it's probably just because the client is kind of shitty.
3. Did the SMART window not open?
If you're sure nothing else went wrong make a thread and post the debug output.
4. Did the SMART window randomly close?
If you're sure nothing else went wrong make a thread and post the debug output.
5. Is SMART loading very slowly?
Search the forums, PLEASE. This problem is mentioned multiple times a day, people are working on it. Find a thread about it and post there if you have any useful information.
6. Do you need to restart after X hours?
Frankly, I don't care. That's not part of SMART and shouldn't be. That being said, v7.1 has API that will make restarting SMART much, much, much easier so that external programs to restart Simba won't be necessary. Basically, don't post in SMART fourms about this.
7. Could not find the applet definition? (or something related)
Again, search the forums. This is a very common bug and DOES NOT NEED a new thread every other day.
8. Are you having trouble with a specific SMART function? (causes errors)
Make a bug report here: https://github.com/BenLand100/SMART/issues
9. Do you have a specific feature request?
I'd prefer you make a thread here, but you can also file an issue on github if you must or you think it's urgent.

Alrighty, so it isn't a HUGE problem, but occasionaly (once in about ten chances), SMART will get stuck at Fetching Updates 86% (6), every time.
It isn't a big issue since my SMART manager has a restart at two hours, it's just not very productive :p

i'm not really sure if this is the right thread to post it on so forgive me if is not :P,
anyway, i opened S.M.A.R.T this morning and i noticed jagex added the Home, Support, Forums, clan bar that comes out when you play on the website, and the bar causes not to be able to see some of the bottom parts such as: (in lobby, you can only see a lil bit of the play buttom) now in game your not able to see thie chat options such as: all, game, public, etc. and on the left side where skill and inventory and the rest are ur not able to see: the sin thing, friends list,friendschat, clan etc. i think u shoudl just make a bit bigger or make it be maximize or restore down. hope i made sense :)

To enable smart to load, the runescape client does not pop up. It says it was successfully executed. Anyone?

^ I'm also having the same problem, when I use the script to run smart is says it was successfully compiled yet does not open up in the window.

I've been getting consistent Failed to detect client errors recently and the furthest smart has gotten is "Starting image transfer" but it usually sits at "Socket connected" for a couple of minutes and then stops working.

im basicly trying to get smart to run on 07 runescape

i've gone through the SMART v8.0 installation guild on Youtube, then to use

SMART_FIXSPEED := TRUE;
SetupSRL();

i open command console, to show scrip and so on

it starts to load up that SMART8

then after so long it says

SMART: failed to pair - no client by that ID

then nothing.

Sorry i've found out what was wrong

When he shows you to drag and drop smart v8.0 files into c:/simba/plugins/

There's a file called smart.jar, that didnt show in video

Remember to drag and drop all files/folders {smart.jar, is in folder form when you download it}

My Smart window opens but opens in white with no picture and has the rs log in screen music playing.

My smart window dosent open, I have smartv8.2 and 8.3 and latest java but it dosent open?

it will say 'FATAL ERROR: Failed to spawn a SMART client' in the debug. i followed the guide correctly up to that point. i also cannot find any other case like this in the FAQ.

any ideas why it wont work?

Run RS in the browser first. Then try running Smart. Should work after that without the need for the browser.

Smart does NOT run with Java 6. Why do you even have Java6 installed :S

Thanks. I had both 7 and 6 in my java folder but simba was defaulting to the version 6.
I just removed 6 and it works fine now.

try restarting, happens once in awhile. (make sure you run as admin)

@BenLand100!! help!!! can't get smart to start.. I've re-installed simba a few times, re-done the oldschool rs include and re-dl'ed smart 8.3 each time i run it it doesnt do anything.. Give me the following:

SRL Compiled in 0 msec
Attempting to pair to a smart client..
No free clients to pair to
Failed to pair to any smart previously spawned smart clients
Attempting to spawn a client
Grabbing your best world...
Fatal Error: Unable to spawn a SMART client
HINT: Make sure you have the lastest java version, and try running simba as admin
Successfully executed.

protip: you dont need to download and 'setup' SMARTv8.3. just enable srl.sex and update that. it /should/ download smart and such.

I've installed JDK7 and JRE, set my paths and everything and nothing works. I'd made sure that I had no previous java versions and everything. I need help.
