Hey guys. I was just wondering if any of you played Runescape. The reason I was wondering was becuase I've notticed a number of members that didn't play, but they were super-scripters for the game. (the main question is, do you have anything to even do with the game, such as macro at it. Scripting for it doesn't count.).

I dont play runescape, but I love scripting for it. I think it is a great enviroment for scripting, and gets noob programming skills to the test. It gives off a somewhat realistic thing you'd need for actual programming (e.g: Failsafes), and it's great practice.

Post up your opinions and I think we can get a conversation started :)

I did play runescape for about 2 years, and stopped about 3 months ago. I was googling Runescape SCAR Scripts for the longest time.. and a forum like this one never popped up. It kept popping up with old scripts using Squig and all those old includes etc.. And I wanted to be a leacher so bad lol :p Then, sythe.org popped up and From that I found out about this forum, and here I am :) a non leaching scripter :p Thats how it works usually when people become scripters. Look for scripts, then you want to write your own because it gets boring using other peoples scripts. So I don't normally play runescape any more :) I macro every once in a while, but thats about it.

Used to play RS, but then I found out how boring it got.

Started my macroing career with a cheap standalone powerminer, started playing legit again, then I got into priv servers, which led me to mopar's place, which led me here.

I no longer play RS other than to reset my players and a bit of cb training for antiban

Quitted about two years ago with lvl 90+ character, started WoW. Now I quitted WoW, but I still don't play Runescape. I feel much better without playing any games, to be honest, I think I was kinda addicted to WoW, but one day I just decided to quit it. So much better feeling, and I sleep more than I used to do!

I like to play on my lvl 64 pure.

I play but recently it's just been all autoing to get money for my main that got hacked using my eye of newt buyer. But after I do that I'm usually a pretty constant legit player (with lot's of autoing!!!). At lease on my main.

i don't like RS Much and dont really play. but what i do like is making an auto for it because, it's a great challenge…. ;)

I think most people who come to scripting sites, find the urge to get there characters up to high level but then relise that scripting has its own satisfaction thus stop playing RS cept to create scripts.

Plus when everyone else on RS is macroing, whats the point of playing Legit?

I think we going to see the day when 90%+ are macros =p

This is nicely said. I remember coming here hoping to get scripts to OWN at Rs and become better than everything and one. But then I realized scripting gave me a satisfaction of my friends praising me for them. I've figured by that time I've become addicted to scripting, and I haven't done any playing of games. Crazy what determination can do, and how points of view change.

I've stopped playing multiple times, then started again. Currently I'm a not playing/but still interested phase. Thats because the free time I do have recently has been going to revise a script I'm making, which means no time for rs. I always thought autoing would save me time so I could play more rs… but it doesn't (not complaining, just commenting.)

I never leached when I was first starting because I was so concerned about the kind of shit that MOB just pulled. (I've still never used anybody else's script except tarajunky's chicken killer to lvl up my nubs)

I don't play but recently I got the scripting bug again :D

thats what happened to me, i wanted what those aryan yew choppers and essence miners had, but i found something much better :D

Eh.. used to play a lot, I started during the Runescape Classic Beta so it was a long long time ago, and yes I was there for phats and santa hat drops, and I have a character that has bunny ears and a scythe XD. But eventually I started playing other mmorpg's and I'm working on my own right now because a lot of mmorpgs that are comming out suck and their pissing me off.
But I think runescape was a good game for when it came out, it really was, just not anymore…. lol. I still like their skills system.. kinda at least with being able to do other things than just fighting.

If anyone knows anything about C++ Visual (not visual basic) but C++ in the visual sense let me know because Its only me and 1 other guy right now programming, I have 2 music artists, 3 2d artists, 1 3d artist, 1 economic designer, and then I'm trying to help out a little with everything (mostly programming). Problem is… most of the people I work with live around the world so we can only talk in ventrilo.

If anyone wants to talk with me about the game or just talk. lemme know and I'll Pm you my ventrilo.

What do u count as playing it? Well i sometimes visit, but im online at RS max 2 hours per week. So i dont really think im actually "playing" it.. So boring and gay game.. I prefer "real games" like WoW or GW.. Now dont start a retarded spamfest how "rs owns WoW" .. I dont want to list every each thing about the games and tell how WoW is better at everything :p But i dont play WoW much either.. Like 3-10 hours per week max.

i think a lot of people stop playing runescape after starting scripting is because they dont want their main to get banned, i always found it a nagging thought in the back of my mind

the main reason i started scripting was cuz i wanted an ownage pure and i wanted to be better than every other pure clone in rs =] but i soon realised its not gunna happen.. and scripting is now much funner plus i scar on other things than rs.. but mostly i learned scripting to make money and support my pure but my rs days are over.. its a fairly boring game

I played once WoW, now I never play RS for the fun anymore. Runescape is boring, but scripting for it is great. I also want to make much RS money so I can sell that for RL money (I know a guy that knows guys that buy 1.000.000gp for €10,-).

I used to be so against macroing and was proud to have gained all my levels legitly, but then I noticed all these bots coming to the mage trees, so I finally gave in and started doing some searching…. Now I have a good army, but only use them to get resources to level up my main, I'm still learning new stuff about scripting everyday, and I gain alot of satisfaction watching the scripts run, but I also still enjoy playing the game legitly, but wish I would have gave in a long time ago and learned of scripting. Well, i used to play a lot, but around 2 months ago, I got my purple phat scammed, which i got legit. That was the only reason i played, so being poored sucked and I hated it. Now I just script, I dont even auto yet lol. I will be making an army soon, but i find scripting fun anyways.

I love 24hour scripts because I have a spare computer I just hooked up. So 24/7 that spare is autoing and making money I then use to level my Melee/Mage/Range pure up.
