Training Combat

Hi guys, I have just started training combat and I was wondering what would be the best item combo's to use in training different skills. I also want to collect charms, and do slayer while at the computer. What should I train on and what should I use?

My general setup.
For attack/def: 76atk, 75 def.
Nietiznot Helm- Fury- Obby Cape- Bandos Chest- Bandos Tassets- Dragon boots- Barrows Gloves- Whip- Dragon Defender. (ring of life cause botting)
For Strength lvl70: tossing up between scimmy or godsword or sara sword? What do I use here?

I am currently botting on Moss Giants in chaos tunnels overnight, and generally do slayer tasks when I am at the computer. I would prefer if the npc is in chaos tunnels so i can bot overnight without the worry of randoms.

Please help. Xoxo

Strength

Of the three suggested, the saradomin sword (ss) is the best by far. Godsword, while supplementing heavy damage, is far too slow for leveling - pragmatically speaking. As for the scimitar, that is the cheap alternative to the saradomin sword (slower but one handed). In essence, the saradomin sword is a two handed whip - in strength bonus and attack speed-, but controlled experience is exchanged for strength experience (as well as a different special attack). If you have any further questions, I shall answer them to the best of my ability.

U dont get randoms in combat, so u can train at anywhere that keeps u fighting non-stop.

I'd suggest using rapier/whip+dragon def for maximum xp, whip dont train strength alone but its still faster to just use whip on aggressive and train everything together.

Oh I did not know you didn't get randoms in combat. Do you still get them after like a couple of hours or so or do you have to actually do something like bury a bone etc.

And what monsters should I kill. For charms that is.

U dont get them as long as u are continuously in combat (i.e. never out of combat for >3sec). There isn't many public fighting script that can loot charms currently but if u are planning to make 1 urself then waterfiend will be best.

You get randoms in combat, who said you don't. I always get randoms.

U probably get it because u are out of combat for a few sec. If u r at like bandits with continual monster flow u wont get any randoms, unless a jagex mod is stalking u.

Hmm ok I will have to level summoning tomorrow. Does anyone know a calculator that will determine the most xp I will get with an amount of charms?

Thank you all for your replies.

Check Tip.it for a summoning calculator

This should do it:

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Pouches

There's also this:

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Charms_to_experience

It will tell you the highest pouch you can make. You will need to pay attention to prices so you don't spend a ton of money on the best pouch.

This is also a good one:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AldEhLOK6ejJdGJGSFF1N3YzejExVDNWV2M2ZkFoNHc#gid=0

Oh and one more (this is my third edit ;)), once you determine which pouch you want to make, this will tell you exactly how much experience you will get and what level you'll reach:

Saradomin Sword is overrated, you'd probably be better off with a Dragon Scimitar and a Dragon Defender for str training.

A dragon scimitar with a dragon defender is 91 slash attack and 72 strength. A Saradomin sword is 87 slash attack and 82 strength.

That means SS is 4 points lower attack and 10 points higher strength. The 10 strength is going to be more beneficial.

cr is the way to go if you have one. Also, a lot of people overlook do this but you can just train everything with a whip. It's not that bad really. Sure you lose the invisible bonus for aggressive training but whip+def > ss. Since you're not really close to max melee (no offense) I'd recommend training equally with a whip.

I usually train on the Moss Giant island over by Brimhaven. Lots of charms and big bones, and 5 moss giants in close proximity. Its also closed off so the bot can't accidently wander off.

The bit about controlled on whip was my next question, is it really any slower or is it faster to just train at controlled? I was thinking of just doing that.

U lost the advantage of gaining strength lvl first which would help more than gaining defence/att lvl, but whip+d def is way much more powerful than ss/d scimi, so whip is still a better choice at higher combat lvls.
