Console Walking [Perfect Walking]

2012-05-25 13:13:10

Hello, this is Console Walking. It will open the Console and use RS Commands given and convert it for a GlobalTile for RS.

This is an alpha of it, but it works.
Have fun, I really hope that I will get help to develope this.

Currently you need to have Compass North and Highest Angle, I will try to convert those other Code stuff into Angle and so on.

From: momotron
Okay guys this is how it works, lil guide, what the script does.

1. Opens console.

2. Type in command. "getcamerapos"

3. Read the data then convert it into something he can work with.

4. Walks to point.

TODO:
- Flag Function.
- WalkPath.
- Take CompassAngle Into account.

You need to be loggedin, Highest Angle and North. Check the mainloop and you get the idea.

Didn't work well with my normal RS clients, it does work great with SMART though. That code also puts your camera angle north, but I've found out that you can't switch your angle while you are in the console. Works well now. This is certainly interesting :P

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Developer_console

Pressing the "Page Up" or "Page Down" keys on your keyboard can list the previously used commands in the Developer console.

That is interesting when you are using this loads. Simply press ~ then page Up to use the getcamerapos again.

PageUp -> Enter

You can even copy and paste the data by using CTRL+A, CTRL+C, CTRL+V.

What are your future idea's to develop this? Loading the right SPS Maps to get to a desired location or making a whole new version of walking?

EDIT: I see, it walks to your desired location already IF it is on the minimap. I guess you are going to work on a version that will walk all over RS next?

EDIT 2: Might want to add that you should add the Point that you get after running it in the script
Current player:
MyPos : (2874, 3403)
Successfully executed.
–>
WriteLn('MyPos : ' + ToStr(C_GetPos));
C_WalkToPoint(Point(2874, 3403));
Then walk somewhere around the same minimap and run it again and it will walk there. Interesting!

when i run this script it opens the developer console and types in getpos and prints the coordinates then terminates… clearly i'm missing a few steps to get it to walk anywhere? and how do i chain walking, like walk to somewhere then go up a ladder and walk to somewhere else for instance?

Well obviously it needs to grab the position to walk, those co-ordinates he grabs is what he uses as go to points, as he said this release isn't even a Beta release, it's an alpha, so all the things needed for effective and efficient walking isn't there, like a new Flag function to work with the bluish hue that console gives, which should be doable since he made the current generic Flag function we use at SRL atm.

From: Jokester

run it, grab the point that's shown in simba, move away from that point but still have it visible in minimap. then plug it into

C_WalkToPoint(Point(x, y));

and then it should take you there

Jokester

I see how it works now, so if I change the TPoint into TPointArray, I can make it to walk a path, with FFlag(10) maybe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Main

hahah yes!!

It might not be too practical in public scripts. But it can definitly be used to get more accurate data for other forms of walking :)

Yes, that will work.. But I'm creating a proper walkpath at the moment :)

And you need a new Flag. I have it done already. I will try to push some updates later today.

Isn't this essentially how reflection/injection (I don't really know the difference between the two!) works by grabbing your characters position in RS and walking it to a new position, grabbing the current position and continuing to do this until destination = reached?

That's the conclusion that I came to, console is giving you data, Home is deciphering it and using it for walking!

and at the above comment about usability, I don't think jagex monitor how many times one uses the console! That'd be completely random lol.

They might monitor it for the simple fact that idiots might type private server commands in it, like ::bank, ::start, ect, but I doubt it.

/offtopic sorry.
At the end of the day the only people who really should be weary of the banhammer are goldfarmers, for the average user like you and me, we want the most stable walking we can. It's kind of an unspoken law that if jagex wanted to ban most botter they could, but they'd rather not since it'd cost them a lot of money!

Nice!

Runaway

2012-05-25 17:28:44

Wow, awesome! Let's hope Jagex doesn't look for people using the console for walking after this is a common method :p

For C_WalkPath, could you do something like this?:

var
C_WalkPath: TPointArray;
PrevPoint, NextPoint: TPoint;
i: Integer;

C_WalkPath := [(Point(3236, 3214), Point(3372, 3107), {etc.}];
//C_OpenConsole;
PrevPoint := C_GetPos;
//C_CloseConsole;
for i := 0 to High(C_WalkPath) do
begin
if (i > 0) then
PrevPoint := C_WalkPath[i - 1];
NextPoint := C_WalkPath[i] - PrevPoint;
// ^ Or whatever you need to do to convert the next walk point to a
// x, y coordinate from the center of the minimap.
C_WalkToPoint(NextPoint);
FFlag(2); // C_FFlag() wouldn't be necessary this way
end;

That way you could open the console, check the player's position, and then close it and execute the walking. It's all speculation of course, but it seems plausible. It would also be able to use the normal FFlag() ;)

CephaXz

2012-05-25 17:49:04

It can't seem to be able to detect the flag on minimap because of the opened console.

Uhh lets say in theory that points and locations are static.. Just an assumption.. Then a generator can be made.. OR a scripter can gather such points, keep a log of it and in their script implement it.. Then the script will not have to check the console each time since it knows the path to walk. Just an assumption though.

Gather points manually..
Put in script..
Execute walk function..
No need to open the console since points are already gathered.

Lets say we have this local data for this walk, in theory..Could we do something along these lines:

Findco-ords(coordinate1 - coordinate2 - coordinate3 - coordinate4)

Im on my phone so it probably doesnt make sense… But each of those coordinates check in a diamond shape around the character, one coordinate for each compass direction. (il draw a picture tomorrow).

By doing this it means we could use maths from the coordinate the character is standing on.

Just an idea dunno if it'l work

Me trying to explain more on my phone:

 C_WalkPath_Diagonal := [(PointNORTH(3236, 3214), PointSOUTH(3372, 3107), PointWEST(3410, 3320), PointEAST(3100, 3050) {etc.}]; //C_OpenConsole; PrevPoint := C_GetPos; //C_CloseConsole; for i := 0 to High(C_WalkPath) do begin if (i > 0) then PrevPoint := C_WalkPath[i - 1]; NextPoint := C_WalkPath[i] - PrevPoint; // ^ Or whatever you need to do to convert the next walk point to a // x, y coordinate from the center of the minimap. C_WalkToPoint(NextPoint); FFlag(2); // C_FFlag() wouldn't be necessary this way

Uses an x, y coordinate from the center of the MM. (75, 43), for example would click the minimap at (MMCX+75, MMCY+43). Which effectively creates a generated path of MM TPoints that are based upon the exact start location.

You could implement a feature which made it use a random emote every time it saw the word "noob" in your chat box… doesn't mean you should… ! (point here being that you can implement a lot of things in conjunction with a lot of other things, but they're not all necessary (or even useful in some cases (this one)).

Apologies for coming across rude, I was only highlighting the fact that it has no relevance to this thread. Especially when it has it's own thread already; http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82905 !

I don't see why you would want to develop and get suggestions for two different methods of walking together. You don't see SPS using DTMs to walk every 50 steps out of 500, why would you have arrow walking and console walking together? They can both be developed sure, but they should be developed seperately and then it's up to the scripter to determine which method of walking is most suited for their needs.

I'd also thought of that but the issue with this is that each time you click to walk, you would have to wait until the player has stopped moving, there could be ways of getting around that though, with timing etc, but then you've got lag issues, so you'd need failsafes plus you may need to re-calibrate where you are by opening command prompt and finding your point again! I like how everyone is bouncing ideas off each other. (I hope im making sense)

Edit: The solution has to be one where you don't have to wait till the character has stopped moving. But all ideas are welcome ofc.
From: momotron
Oh my bad, I meant to clarify that having wait(75) while is moving is kinda a waste, Home wants to do it in such away that it becomes the most efficient/accurate method possible. (I'm not just talking outa my ass, had a long chat with him about it.)

while IsMoving do
Wait(500);

My only issue is that if jagex finds us getting co ords they could accuse us of macro planning? HAha

If they add it into the game, I think they expect people to use it :p

Yea, but its a rare occurence… If theres a flux of users in this technique.. it'l be suspicious eh :p

while IsMoving do
Wait(500);
FFlag(0);

E: If you turn the WalkPath into a set of MM TPoints after you check the console position before starting to walk, you won't need to open it up again.

Oh my bad, I meant to clarify that having wait(75) while is moving is kinda a waste, Home wants to do it in such away that it becomes the most efficient/accurate method possible. (I'm not just talking outa my ass, had a long chat with him about it.)

Thousands of legiters use it every day to check their fps etc. I really don't think it's going to be a huge issue mainly because jagex don't care if you bot, only if your a major goldfarmer as they don't want to lose your business.

I didnt think about the FPS. To be honest haha

Sorry :3 im interested in this walking method tbh, plus looking at the code… It looks easier than the other methods

Would it be at all possible (possibly after injecting runescape) to get a map with all the co-ords built in with various areas?

Split into each village and main paths etc…

Maybe a tool like an SPS tool?

I'm sure Home is planning something awesome that will consist of a library of locations/points and allow you to walk anywhere based upon your initial location. But even if he isn't, it's basically SPS but math instead of bmp matching. You supply the points, and the function walks 'em.

Is he looking for people to help create/perfect this method? I'd definitely be willing to help. Is he on the SRL irc or something?

E: Whoops lol, didn't even notice the double post >.<

I think what you are referring to was actually what RSBuddy was working on when it was closed down. They were working on generating an accurate world-walking-method that scanned all of an area around it and applied the coords to it. I don't remember the specific name of it, but I'm assuming Jacmob is not looking to release it to a scripting community :P

Highly detectable no? You need dev console open to enter the command and jagex will be their suspicious selves when they see this command used multiple times. :(

You only need to open it once every time you walk somewhere.

Ok, people now I need all Keys that you use to open the Console window.
I will use it so it will close the consoleafter clicking each point (It's very fast :))

No offence but this thread has nothing to do with RSBuddy or Jacmob haha

As someone pointed out, this would be really useful (and much less detectable) if the scripters used a path generator based on this, and the scripts didn't need to use the console while running. Maybe it could open the console as a failsafe and get the coords?

To get to this console press the [`] (quote/grave accent) or [²] (superscript 2). It is found to the left of the '1' key on most QWERTY keyboards. The tilde [~] is on the same key, on some keyboards. If you find yourself unable to close it, try holding [shift] while pressing any of these buttons. The console is useable on the login screen.

I would use the [`] key

Pressing the "Page Up" or "Page Down" keys on your keyboard can list the previously used commands in the Developer console.

So yeah:
1) Press ` to open the console
2) Type getcamerapos and hit enter
3) Convert the data
4) Press ` to close the console
5) Walk
repeat
Press ` to open the console, Press page-up to instantly use getcamerapos, hit enter, press ` to close the console
until we are at the right position

I don't think you even need to close it unless you are changing your camera angle/direction. When I have my console open, I can still open my bank, walk around, etc. - I just can't use my arrow keys as far as I know.

E: I can actively gather my camerapos whilst walking

So… it's not working for me, I'm obviously being stupid.

Procedure WalktoWilderness;
begin
WriteLn('MyPos : ' + ToStr(C_GetPos));
C_WalkToPoint(Point(4854, 2339));
end;

and then in my main loop:

  WalktoWilderness;

From edgeville* bank… I have all the other code added
