SRL Archive - RS3 Script Requests

Requesting a script that Price Checks, then sends the Data to a website

Title pretty much says it all.

I would appreciate it if the script could start from a complete logout, find GE if necessary, open it up, then:

Price check an item that I enter into the script, whatever it may be.

It would be VERY nice if the script defaulted to choosing the first item after typing in the search, but also had the option to pick a 2nd, 3rd..4th… etc since some items, even if typed exactly, are not the first option.

The bot would ONLY price check, and then send that data to a website in realtime.

Here's an example of what I'd like the bot to be able to do if possible:

Enter this information into a URL by entering something like this:

http://website.com/data.php?name=Nature+rune&sell=138&buy=135

For some reference:
Sending the data:

Reading those price checked numbers:

I would like to get this bot in order to have real-time graphs for items.

I have the main domain already, but no actual pages created. Because of this, you can make the URL you send to fairly custom. I will tell you what the domain starts with if you wind up making it, or you can let me edit it in after the fact.

Thanks to whoever takes me up on it. I imagine the script would be fairly simple to make, but I know I am not good enough to have failsafes that will ensure that the bot can run for hours and hours on end without messing up and getting stuck.

Why not just scrape the online GE? Much easier.

Not quite sure what you mean? The goal is to create real time graphs. If you have a better way to do such a thing, do tell! :)

You can grab the items from the GE off of the RS site, pull the data you need, and send it. No need to login to RS.

I am looking to get the actual prices, not the GE suggested prices.

They vary greatly from the suggestion, and vary all throughout the day. The only way to get the true prices is to actually price check, from what I know.

The GE prices in the game and the GE prices on the site are the same, iirc.

They're the same ingame and on the site, however what something ACTUALLY sells for can be out by a fair way, if thats what you mean?

No, they are not. The game values items at something, but rarely do you go to the GE and be able to sell it for that exact price. It sells really for above or below that.

In fact, 100% of the time, the number is wrong. That number is either the "high" or the "low" ….never both, and always wrong at least in one way… and usually wrong with both numbers.

If you don't buy the item, how will you know what the correct price is? Just looking at the item in GE will give you the same price as the GE site will.

Understand?

The number is always wrong.
GE Prices (site) and Prices in game are different.

Buy price != GE lookup price. Whether it's in game or on the site. You'll have to buy the item to see the true, correct price.

And that is exactly what I want. A bot that will price check in game, by buying and selling the item I choose.

Then it takes the values of the prices and uploads to a website for me.:)

simba has a function called GetPage
Simba Code:
[LEFT]GetPage("[URL="[COLOR=#0000FF][B]http://website.com/data.php?"+"ItemName"+"ItemPrice")

[/LEFT]

Rest could be made with a few DTM's very simple script you shoud take it up your self all the functions are there for you. make this your new bible http://docs.villavu.com/srl-5/srlref.html

Your first post doesn't say anything about buying the item, which is why I suggested the other option.

Must be a simple misunderstanding then, it is there :)

"I would appreciate it if the script could start from a complete logout, find GE if necessary, open it up, then:

That's what price check means. Sorry if that wording was confusing. Thanks for helping me to clear it up.

so basically you want to enter the item to check buying price on ur website e.g nature runes, and this sends a command to simba in which a player logs in and actually checks the price and sends back this information to ur site .. Realtime ???
