Leo the Gravedigger

I'm currently working at leo ,actually on gravestone recognition. I have function ,which grabs rotating stone on a flat angle ,but I'm out of ideas ,how to recognize shape on it. Maybe someone will find the way.

Here is package of about 40 sample bitmaps of every stone types ,for testing.

Color changes everytime ,but I think edge detection gets over it:
All we need is to recognize shape on B&W bitmap. But DTMs doesn't work here ,and findBitmapDeformated is very slow. I'm looking for about 80% accuracy. I think noise reduction would be helpfull here.

Any ideas?

If its too slow, then maybe try Freeze and Unfreeze.

It's better to go for accuracy then speed.

Maybe try finding the square around the object and eliminating that. If you notice, the edges of the square are a lot thicker than the object edges.

I don't need freeze ,because I make bitmap ,and work on bitmap.
Well speed is not such important ,but findbitmapdeformated is really very slow. If it takes 10+ sec for everytime call this function and you need to iterate it throught 4 angles ,and 5 models it might take 2,5 min for one try…

Maybe try finding the square around the object and eliminating that. If you notice, the edges of the square are a lot thicker than the object edges.

It's not easy ,because some shapes touch stone's edges

This is interesting.
I worked on this a while back and to get about 70-80% accuracy when I did it, I made a DTM of a recognizable point on the gravestone, such as the axe head edge.
I believe that I used a TPA which found the gravestone head in a 400 Px area around the player (MMCx/MMCy).

What about just looking for part's of the model, like with the axe for example the the Length of the Handle would be easier than the the head because it would differentiate less while rotating.

i think looking for the model is too cumbersome and slow

my idea: look for where the model isn't - just count colors in box like this:
