Could we use sound to detect ??

Basically I was wondering if we could use in game sounds to know if we are doing something in Runescape ? Like chopping trees for instance, you hear the sound of the axe hitting the tree.

The only thing I can think of that might not help is if the sounds of what other chars in the game are doing can be heard to. Does anyone know if you only hear what your doing or do you only hear the sounds that your char is creating ?

It would be nice if we could use sounds in some way to know if we are doing something as it could help with quite a few things.

There was a thread on this awhile back, and it went pretty deep into it not sure what happened to it though.

This should be feasibly possible, and you can mute out the sounds of other players by lowering the ambient sounds, can't you? They're sounds from things happening around you i think, and sound effects are the ones which happen as a result of you interacting with something else.

That's a pretty clever idea. What kind of practical purposes would it have?

Right now, I can only think of woodcutting because there is a sound when a trees is depleted.

Mining, Combat, Cooking, virtually anything that makes a unique sound whilst you're doing the process or when it completes can be used.
