Introduction:
Lately I have seen a huge influx in forum posts about different bot clients hacking their accounts. For closed-source clients I cannot comment on if this is definitely the client or another source. However I can offer a few tips on keeping your account safe across all botting clients.
Simba/Rarebot - open sourced.
Simba by far is the safest platform I have ever used, the open source makes it easy to check scripts for "malicious" coding, even though simba has by far the lowest rate of atempts at hacking ect. I still find and believe it is good habit to check every script you use. When opening a simba script for the first time, press "find" and search "pass". Password related scripting should not be used in any other subject area besdies the "declare players field".
In the likes of powerbot and rarebot style clients that do have open sources. I recommend you search the scripts for either "pass" or "accountgrab". If any coding appears along those lines I suggest you do not use this scripts.
A general rule to follow when picking which scripts to use is to CHECK the amount of views on thread, READ responses on thread, CHECK join date of creator, do they have other scripts? ect. Always do research before using any script. If someone is posting a complex script, and the user has 10 posts, and only been active for a month chances are there will be something "malicious" with the script. Common sense should be used before using any script, the higher the traffic of a thread the more likely they are to be legit.
Closed - Sourced Clients
With closed source clients or "Pro" scripts there really is no deffinate way to tell. However I can offer a few safety tips. Never fill in full account details into the subject, or bank - pin; anything they could use to access your account with. Remove IP screenshots, or any sorts of screenshots as they are commonly sent off to other sites. Have your account logged in - before starting a script.
RATS/Viruses
RATS/Viruses are more commonly then not the reason for hacking. They steal log-in data, ect. I recommend you do research before you download ANYTHING and always use virus-scanners, and check your IP on login that it matches your usual log in.
Conclusion
I cannot guarentee the safety of your acccount. I personally have used many clients, and many different scripts across my botting time. I have never had any issues. Smart Botting is all about using common sense! So remember, do your research before you use ANY script and check the scripts!!! Most are probably legit but one-day this information may help you!!
If anyone has anything I can add please post in comments. I do not have the deepest understanding of scripting RATS/Viruses, this is purely common sense and what I have done to get met through.
