Hey guys :). I have recently come back to runescape after quitting for a long time. I used to be a maxed granite maul pure, but I've decided to play runescape as an actual game in it's entirety, which means doing all the quests, and just generally playing as a main.

Anyways, a lot has changed for a main now, so I need your help to let me know the max everything!

I'm already 99 str/range/mage/hp from being a pure, and I got 95 prayer and turmoil to help me train att/def. I'm in the 90's for both, and my plan is to get 95 att/def, and train them both to 99 while killing waterfiends for charms for 99 summoning. After that I'm going to try to max out my gear

Here's where the questions start :D:

I want to know the best gear for melee, mage, and range (excluding the newest stuff that is out of my league right now :p… torva, and the other two)

So for melee is it.. Bandos chest/tassets, neit helm, fury, zerker ring (I), dragon defender, chaotic rapier, steadfast boots, goliath gloves, and the new tzharr cape? (the one after firecape)

range is it.. Armadyl helmet, chest, and legs, Chaotic crossbow, Ava's accumulator, (shield ???), Glaiven boots, amulet of ranging, swift gloves, and archers ring (I)?

Mage… Arhims hood, robe top, and legs, chaotic staff, (shield???), swift gloves, ragefire boots, arcane stream necklace, god cape?


And last but not least, what shall I use to fight waterfiends when I get to them? I hear people use crush weapons, but I don't happen to have a chaotic maul. Should I use a god sword (which one..?), or a spear, or what?

The melee setup you suggested seems decent, given your goliath gloves might burn out, but there's always barrows gloves (after a decent # of quests to obtain) too. The new cape, that comes after the fire cape is called, "TokHaar-Kal."

The range setup you suggested seems good, a Zamorak's unholy book is a good range +8 (shield slot) item. Barrows gloves/Mercenary's gloves might work nice here too.

Mage, you could choose ahrims, or ganodermic, both decent armours. I'd suggest an arcane spirit shield (higher cost) / mage book (~ 1/10 the arc cost) / or Zamorak's unholy book (which gives +8 mage too).

When slaying waterfiends, I'd use the crush option on a zamorakian spear.

Is gano better mage bonus then arhims then? And haha well for melee, i'm all about strength bonus mostly ^.^.

well it only takes like 5 more boss kills for an additional pair of goliath gloves that last 4 hours, so I'll use those all the time =D

and ok, so arcane for the best mage shield slot, but is there a better range bonus for the shield slot other then zammy book? Like eagle eye, or something?

and ok so crush on zammy spear against waterfiends, but just curious - why? What's it's advantage over a godsword? Thanks :)!

Thanks, that really means a lot. I put a LOTTT of time into that thing :p. I am actually now going to update it soon to use these simba bots since reflections are broke, and I think I'm going to sell the rights of sale. I'm going to sell it for like a cheap 100m just since I need cash for my main bad :(.

Oh and ok guys, so is this right, for the best stuff without those super expensive torva and stuff?

The Tok cape is the best cape at all times (Besides for Ava for range)

and are you sure? tip.it compare items is saying that the Tok is only +3 mage attack bonus while saradomin cape is +10

okie dokie I'll either use goliath gloves or a zs. Most likely a zs so I don't have to constantly stop my bot to get new gloves :p

Goliath gloves last for 4 hours of combat, which translates to quite a bit more time of actual use (because you're not in constant combat).

Goliath gloves and chaotic maul are easily the best for fiends. Also, it might be worth getting a set of void. It's great at fiends and comes in handy in a number of places.

Edit: Aegis is garbage. It absorbs 10% of incoming damage at 99 defence (which is nice), but has a cap on the amount it absorbs. You can get better auras for the 84k you would spend on it. Equilibrium is probably the best combat aura.

your right, I didn't think about that combat time situation… perhaps I shall get my goliath gloves before getting charms for 99 summ. I just wanna get all my combat stats done before this new combat system comes out and fucks our bots for a while.

and idk about the void o.o , I heard I'm suppost to range pray, and wear gano so that they don't hit on me or something?

You don't need to pray range if you're 99 def/mage/range. You can go in with full gano (don't worry about void, it's overkill). Pray turmoil constantly and flash soulsplit when you get low on life. What is your current summoning level? If you have 68 at least, you should take some bunyip pouches.

Here's what my setup was when I camped Waterfiends:

Full Karils (before the release of gano)
Chaotic maul

16 prayer pots
2 each of ext str/atk
2 Unicorns and scrolls
1 Summoning potion
Elite Excalibur (reward from Elite Seers tasks)
Some food and space for charms

This would last me for about 2 hours, and I would typically get 110 charms per hour.

Edit: Also, if you're planning on training other skills, you will get a lot of charms from slayer.

I realized I have massive amounts of questing to do to be able to defeat the proper monsters for goliath gloves, so that is out of the question as I need to get combat done (get my 95-99 defence and charms for 99 summoning) as soon as possible.

and unforunately, my summoning is in the low 60's :(…but hopefully after a short time I'll have enough to just get up to 68 for bunyips. As for the soulsplit flashing, I'll be running a bot for this which only supports quickprayer, and the scripter suggests range deflect/turmoil, so I suppose I shall use that :)!

I didn't realize you were using a bot. That will work fine, you'll just use a lot of prayer pots ;)

Otherwise looks great! Zammy spear will get the job done just fine.

Yeah the bot will save my sanity, but yup sadly it will use a lot of prayer points :(… it's the price I have to pay :D. and sweet about the zammy spear, thanks a lot mate :)!

I reallyy want the new elite void since it hits so good and has those extra prayer bonuses, but it takes soooo long to get, I can't spare the time :(.
