Using web and ios/android technology to make the ultimate bot

Dear All,

So I was sitting down and thinking, how awesome would it be if I could get real time feeds of the script on my phone when I'm not in front of the pc? The idea involves using the script to send progress reports, alert you when there's a random and even show you conversations from the chatbox/friend msgs? The idea seems farfetched but I tried to figure it out.

Villavu can provide a private API key to each user. The user will need to enter the key in the script. Whenever there is a notification that needs to be sent we can open a php page that takes in various parameters with pascal to update the database for that api key. Then we develop an android or iphone app allowing users to login to their api account and get feeds anywhere.

Then we can use these apps to relay information back to the database for use in the script. The trick here is how do the scripts detect a request from the user's phone?

What do you guys think? I think its a great idea…

I thought about this too but this would be incredibly hard for just the leaders of the community here to figure out.

With the number of people using Simba daily, I would think this would require a good amount of bandwidth. A better idea would just to create a Simba plugin that would start a local server and whenever an authorized client connects and asks for a certain bit of information, send it to them.

Edit: Seems I got this backwards, but I assume it would work the same way - just connect to the server with your phone and ask the server to register that phone for events/notifications.

use splashtop or teamview and download the app :D problem solved

Teamviewer kills battery and over 3G it really isn't all that good to fix a problem or complete a random with all that lag. I used to use it. It was fine when the script was still running but if it stopper it was nearly useless.

Hmm some great points. I could try working on getting a local server setup, perhaps when I get a bit of time this summer. The only problem being my skills in pascal aren't up to par yet. I only recently started with pascal. I do have knowledge in php, mysql, c, and a lil bit of java :).

My question is what's the best way to have the phone relay messages back to the script?

For example, I was thinking of having the following things you can do:

Being able to log out and stop script
Being able to log out and break
Being able to hop world
Being able to read console
Being able to get notifications when in random
Being able to see console when in random and a button to log out if the script cannot solve the random
Being able to get screenshot
Being able to get notified when someone is talking
Being able to read all chat msgs/friend chat
Being able to type back/friend msg back.

I guess these would be the basic functionalitt, my question is : it isn't to hard to figure out how to get pascal to save this data to the database, but how can pascal detect for requests…

Well you would probably send the notifications from the PC to the cell phone using email. To have the script receive responses from the phone, you would have to make it read your email. An easier way to create replies is to just setup a direct connection from the phone to the server where you can tell the script what to do.

Or just make a function called "SendNotification" And make it some how send it to an app on your phone called Script-watcher which we would have to make :P

That is a very basic idea of what it's going to look like (code-wise). Sounds goooood. I wonder if this would be worth the time & effort.

What does everyone else think? Any potential issues?

If you plan it out correctly and it get working well it could be worth it. Create a plugin for it and people might use it.

I had something setup a while ago that would take screenshots of me playing and upload them to a server I had setup on my LAN.

When I wanted to see what was up, I could just browse the server on my phone and look at the pictures.

That's quite handy, doesn't solve the problems we want to solve but nevertheless handy. Also quite easy to set up. Do you mind sharing your work? I'm sure there'd be some people who might find it very helpful.

You might be able to have the script to GET a webpage from time to time to see if there's a pending action on say a message queue. Simba comes with some web functions and I think it's doable if you have a plugin/ include well made for it.

On the other hand, you can also have your script poll back to a site updating the character status, which I think is useful if you're running an army. But I don't think many are doing that nowadays to be honest.

This would be a nice idea, but would be a pain to make. iDung from Rsbuddy managed to make a app for there bot which was pretty nice ;)

I could script this fairly easily if you wanted me to? just a bit of php and sql, I wouldn't be able to make an app for your phone, just a web page you could browse to and log in to check

Edit:

Check Out:

and
http://mytracker.net84.net/PHP%20Work/Login.php

Only thing left to add it the way in which you add the status's to your account, but will be very simple, going out now

Placeholders. Read about them.

I think this is uneeded because there are apps such as Team viewer that can do this.

I think this is more meant as a 10 second way to check if your account is still botting, so that you know whether to log into team viewer

Anyway, check out this thread:

I don't have the exact code but I had an old computer lying around my house, which I installed ubuntu server onto and then installed apache (Web server program)

I then implemented code into my script that would take screenshots every 10 or so seconds and would always save it with the same filename so it would rewrite the current picture (This made setting up the webpage easy). The webpage was just three lines of code which displayed the picture.

Whenever I wanted to see what was happening with my account I would just browse the webserver and see what was happening. I don't have any of the code anymore this was a while ago when I had this all setup.
