Smart Loading Slowly [FIX]

Okay, so it's not really a fix, just stop making new threads about it and complain about it here. I suspect that SRL is using bad arguments to the SmartSetup, specifically the client parameters. Someone should check RunesSape.com and see what the parameters are now and mimic them.

If that's not the problem try to figure out what is similar between the people that have the problem.

That is all.

I find if you just put the FPS bar right up (MAX) it loads in seconds. Great client, Thanks!

No, it's because said person's internet is slow.
I find that when running Smart on my neighbours internet(51% signal, 51kbps dl speed), it takes a minimum of 8-9 minutes to load up.
However, when running on MY internet (100% signal, 5.1mbps dl speed), it takes just a few seconds.

Slider bar fixes it for me as well, :/

Even in that case there shouldn't be too much difference between regular RS loading speed and SMART speed. Regular client doesn't take 8 minutes to load for you, does it?

On Peak net loads quick, off peak slows down a lot plain and simple :/

Few observations:
SRL uses a different URL than Jagex seems to do:
<iframe id="game" src="http://world53.runescape.com/,f-42343243222aa,someotherweirdletters--H-A4Y" frameborder="0"></iframe>
FPS bar does impact update loading speed.

That url is personalized so try your own and see if it has impact.

http://world4.runescape.com/,f7740331875593687397,iDBXPZaBPotHnzeZldoHBT3ETMYZEXrK2ABJtAAA

To get this all you have to do is download the page via Simba.. PregMatch for <iframe id="game" src=

and it will grab that url for you.. use a regex on it to confirm it:
Simba Code:
[LEFT]if ExecRegExpr('[A-Za-z0-9]\.runescape\.com\/') then
ArrayOfPosibilities:= PregMatchAll(RSLinkRegex…);

if (Length(ArrayOfPosibilities) > 1) then
SmartSetup(ParamsFromArray);
[/LEFT]

Grab the parameters from the PregMatch and pass it to SmartSetup but the problem is getting the downloaded page which would have to already be loaded.

This is what I was referring to, the URL that is. Needs to be fixed asap, could easily be detectable.

Also, it's understandable that the fps bar would impact things. It's designed to introduce intentional lag in the client to slow it's rendering. The magnitude of this could be an issue. You can programatically set it with SmartSetRefresh which should alleviate any issues.

I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff, but I find that SmartSetRefresh does not fix the issue simply because it is usually not called until Runescape has finished loading. Is there a way that we could set the default of the FPS slider to 100?

Actually SmartSetRefresh is called as soon as SetupSRL is done it's work. If you manually Load smart by passing it the Parameters yourself, then smartsetrefresh you will see that as soon as smart opens, the slider hits 100.

Now SetupSRL has this feature called RSReady.. That causes it to wait until the runescape login screen is found and that's what keeps your slider command from being ran.

So what in the SetupSRL makes the default on the slider 50%? Also, looking through the SetupSRL I see a feature that is supposed to terminate the script if it finds the wrong "x" button in the top right. I have started scripts with resizable on and it has never terminated the script. Could the color that it searches for have changed?

For me sometimes it notices the resizable and sometimes it doesnt.

Dunno what your talking about but this is what I was speaking of:

That's the line that makes it wait until smart is fully loaded..

repeat
Wait(100);
if (GetTimeRunning - t) > 120000 then
Break;
until(RSReady);

Solution:

begin
SmartSetupEx(116, True, True, False); //Where 116 is your server.. Check Smart.Simba for documentation.
SmartSetRefresh(100);
SetupSRL;
end.

Now, what if, to the

until(RSReady);

line I add something like

until(RSReady) or FindColor(x, y, 0, xs, ys, xe, ye);

which would make it move the slider to the top as soon as it finds that color and possibly cause the client to load faster again?

Donno really, just throwing the idea out there.

That's the thing.. NONE of that will make it load faster.. RSReady is a function that WAITS constantly until your login screen is there.. If I recall, Smart's screen stays black for quite some time before it starts loading. Not only that when it does start loading, RSReady will keep the slider at half way until smart is done loading which will take forever unless you move it manually..

Now the solution goes like this:

If you override RSReady by loading smart manually and setting the refresh to 100, the screen still stays black because the command isn't registered for whatever reason. I'm not sure why. The solution to fix that black screen is to MOVE the smart mouse. Why? Because it paints on the canvas as it's not actually a real mouse. It's a 2-5 pixel diameter dot that's paint on the canvas. Smart starts to load, u set the slider to max.. then reset it back after.

Here is a sample script I currently use and tested. Works the best!

{$DEFINE SMART}
{$I SRL/SRL.Simba}

begin
//Load all smart info so that SetupSRL doesn't close smart to open it twice!
Smart_Server := 72;
Smart_Members := True;
Smart_Signed := True;
Smart_SuperDetail := False;

SmartSetupEx(Smart_Server, Smart_Members, Smart_Signed, Smart_SuperDetail); //Override the one in SetupSRL by calling this first!
MMouse(1, 1, 1, 1); //Move the mouse 2-4 pixels so that Smart STARTS to load.. If you comment out this line, Smart Will load SLOW AS HELL
SmartSetRefresh(100); //Smart is now loading slowly so speed it up by setting refresh to 100.
while (Not RSReady) do //Finally do what the SetupSRL was meant to do.. Wait until we are at the login screen..
wait(1000);
SetupSRL; //Call SetupSRL.. This should have no work to do except setup boxes.. We have done all the work manually already.. Thus this will only setup randoms and boxes like MSBox, MIBox, etc..

SmartSetRefresh(50); //Totally option to reset the slider back to default.
end.

That does make it load a lot quicker, like I would think that SMART would. I was just wondering because the SMART Manager loses a lot of time with the black screen just sitting there.

Ahh I haven't used the manager but if that script above works for u, you can ask the creator of SmartManager to implement that or something. Or just put it in your script. The smart mouse MUST move though because if you comment out that mouse(1, 1, 1, 1) you will see that it takes the same 3 minute load time.. the second that the mouse thing is there, it loads as long as u set the slider at 100 right after.

But yeah either implement that stuff in your script or ask the creator of the manager to do it until ben fixes it.

I implemented this into the main SetupSRL; procedure.

  until(RSReady) or FindColor(x, y, 0, xs, ys, xe, ye);
if FindColor(x, y, 0, xs, ys, xe, ye) then
begin
MoveMouse(RandomRange(0,450),RandomRange(0,450));
end;

This cut the black screen to almost non-existant. (I wasn't sure on the width and height of the client screen so the randomranges could be made bigger if need be.

This is essentially what you did, but is within the SetupSRL which is going to be called anyway, so it just cuts down on code. Unless I missed something.

So has a solution/proper parameters been found for this?

Besides effecting slow loading/loading pause I think it also makes the client unable to get Pings too, all of them just show up as N/A.

Nava2

2012-05-23 09:15:16

It looks like the old parameters are dead in the water.

They don't appear to actually affect the client loading, isn't unsigned gone completely as well?

The issue has nothing to do with 6 hour limit.
It just makes SMART low the client slowly/not able to read pings etc.
6 hour problem still applies on SMART and the real runescape client too, to bypass that you can use http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76404

I put something like this directly into my SRL.simba file and it works great. Only thing that I had to do change was ad a few short waits and SetRefresh lines to simulate the "dragging" of the refresh bar. Sometimes putting it to 100 instantly doesn't register correctly and im stuck in a black screen.
