So lets say I Syphon a bunch of creatures and get a big stockpile of essence.
If I log out, do I lose the essence?
Or can I log in, get a huge stockpile of essence for a few days or hours, log out.

And then come back later and just syphone a bunch of nodes?

Try and see. It seems to happen randomly where you lose it after relogging.

For what it's worth, the essence is useless. Just grab from the spawn and kill a few monsters and you're good to go.

You keep what ever you have gain in the runespan :) as long as you don't tele out, or fail a random event everything will be there when you log back in :)

The gltich is if you are in a random event, and log out.
All of your runes are traded for points, and all of your essence is lost.
Besides that I think you keep it all.

@Harry, you get much faster xp if you just stock up on tons of essence and then just go straight for nodes for a long time.

Yeah Pretty much what Jonno said, as long as you don't hang around in a random too long or fail it you should keep all your runes.

Must be certain randoms then cause I've logged in sandwich lady & forester event and essence hasn't been touched nor has points been changed.

There is currently a glitch which occurs if a player encounters a random event during their time in Runespan. If the player logs off during the random event, upon returning to Runespan, the player will find all their runes exchanged for points and that they are without any runes or rune essence. Jagex have stated on the offical forums that they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it.

Hmm strange must be new.. cause it hasn't happened to me. You should be safe logging out with the essence though. Best of luck :)

guess its just a glitch that happens randomly/rarely so it doesnt happen every time.

you can make a function that detect out-of-essence very fast and recollect from the floating ess, shdn't affect xp rate too much.

I always re-log and never loose anything.

Everything is kept unless you tele out.
