This is a strange problem that just started today.
There are lots of things I had to do to get SMART and Simba running crrectly, such as:
- install Java 6u31 x86
- Manually install libsmart.dll and other .dll's
- Run Simba in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2
- Install some various Microsoft distributable's to fix the MSCRV##.dll errors, whatever the names are, can't remember
After all that BS, finally got Simba and SMART running correctly on my machine. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise.
Then this morning when I go to run it, everything appears to be initializing perfectly fine. But I wait..and wait..and the GUI never shows up. I check my running processes, sure enough Simba is there. I right click the tray icon, hide, exit, everything works. But the main GUI never showed up. And it still won't.
I've reinstalled twice, but that doesn't seem to be helping. I've also rebooted my machine a few times, all to no avail. Wtf is going on here? Only other thing I can guess is that it's downloading something in the background, and since I'm on public wifi, I'm running at near-dial-up speeds, so it may not function properly til the download is finished. That has been the case with things like updating MSI and the like.
