I want to buy a used laptop. Nothing super expensive.
I'm quite used to using Kijiji- I live in Canada. I've been looking around at the ads for quite a bit (about 2-3 weeks) and…
My options right now:

HP Pavilion DV9000
- 160GB HD
- 2GB RAM
- Vista :(
- Missing 2 keys (J,K)
- Fix: Use USB keyboard
Price: $60

Compaq Armada e5000
- 40GB HD
- 512mb RAM
- XP
- Left and Right buttons don't work
- Fix: Use a USB mouse
Price: $30

Acer Aspire One
- 250GB HD
- 1GB RAM
- Windows 7
- No problems
Price $125

If you have had one of these laptops, could you please tell me what the pros and cons of it were? And if you have had any problems like the ones mentioned, how did you fix them/ get around them? Maybe even suggest a laptop that's brand new but quite cheap ($120ish?)? Yes, I am that poor.

If any of these laptops could be upgraded I would choose that one. If you have any $ you dont need buy more RAM etc.

The first two are missing pieces/broken.. the armada only has 512 mb of ram, so its probably old (and slow) - even "poor" people don't deserve that crap. I would go with the acer then add more ram to it when you have the money, if I only had a choice out of those three.

Any idea what CPU the acer has?

I suggest you buy Samsung RF711 instead of a used one. If I got everything right from the thread.

Dont get #2 512mb ram is bad :S

Yea I would avoid used laptops. If it is more than a year old and being sold that cheaply then you are getting ripped off or buying someone else headache.
