As the title suggests, should we start to warn users who reply to spam threads created by spam bots? I'm honestly at the stage where I am about to, since a few people (*including* some SRL members) continuously do it.
They're only helping the bots by replying…

Daniel.

Not really necessary in my opinion unless it's completely spamming.

It all gets deleted so it doesn't really matter as the thread is gone within a few hours.
As staff has seen I'm sure, I've been warning people who respond on such threads.
Just be somewhat sincere about it. I've noticed that people I've warned haven't done it again, that I've seen anyways.
@Markus, do the warnings/infractions disappear when the thread is deleted as well?

No those don't, so you'd have a warning for a deleted post which sounds really really lame imo.

I agree. I'm simply sick of clicking 'New Posts' and seeing 'OUYFjhv posted: Louis Vuitton bags Lvx51 FREE!!'.
Perhaps SSRL should be able to close registered users threads. Perhaps that's not feasible or possible, but it would make the issue easier to deal with.

Or, have the system close the thread if it's started by a spam bot?

BAM!
Would have to be only if the thread was started by the same bot though, as they don't
always start threads.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Don't know if it's even possible with the system though.

These have all been suggested before, many times. It won't be implemented.
