Right, first of all don't complain and moan, yes i am a noob, and yes i am asking about a different bot. but so what?

anyway.. to the actual question….

powerbot has released numerous dungeoneering bots and of course, i want it. But i've heard many stories about them hacking or huge ban rate etc..

so what is your opinion on them? don't just say they are bad and just jump on the general bandwagon. truthfully, has anybody had a good experience from using powerbot, is it safe?

I've used it so far on 2 different accounts and haven't had a problem yet. They're down atm as far as I know and I would probably be more inclined to trust them over Epicbot.

Pb is pfail. Either can get banned or hacked. It's like no other option.

Pbot haas great scripts but the ban rate is just toooooo high. Which means that almost any script can get you banned in a matter of seconds. They are down atm and they usually take longer to update but epicbot is being ddosed by jagex. Btw, the dungeoneering scripts pbot have are a total fail since they dont work at all..lol..

why would it be the biggest botting community if it was such a "fail"?

did you declare player on their clients?

While the Powerbot community is awful, the botting software itself is superb. I started using RSBot 2 when it first came it and have continued using it until the recent update which broke injection bots. I have an amazing account (~10 99s or so all botted via RSBot) and have had no 'hacking' problems.

This is, of course, just one person's experience.

Powerbot is known for that mass hacking they commited. Also has a high ban rate.

the bann rates are not huge at all, didn't hear a story of someone who got banned by powerbot yet. Powerbot is closed source, so you can't be sure that it is safe (there are also lots of threads on their forum from people who say the got hacked by powerbot)
About the dung scripts, they are currently not worth using.

why trust either when you can just use simba? find a profitable script or make one, run it for a month and use the cash to leech your dung lvls? i wouldnt risk ban/hack just for dung lvls.

Besides Rarebot, it's probably the only reflection/injection bot that I'd even consider using post-nuke. I attempted to use IconicDungeon way back when it was first released, but it only did C4, and was still very buggy. It's likely improved a lot since then, but the bot itself is down so I can't say for sure as I can't test it.

IMO, none of these "bots" outside of Simba (and I guess maybe Runedream) are worth investing your time into yet. Simba's great in the sense that you don't have to worry about downtime following an update. Whereas with EB, Rsbot, and Rarebot, a simple 5 minute RS Update can mean the bot being down for weeks at a time.

Why trust Simba scripts when there's already been cases of password stealing scripts being uploaded here? It works both ways.

Before the nuke I used a hacked version of iDungeonPro that pyroryan hooked me up with. Would it still work or has the Powerbot API changed too much?

Pb is awesome, before the bot nuke, I only used them and nexus bots and those 2 achieved me over 5 99's. I used the idungeon pro to get me from 52-92 dung and a whole bunch other of their scripts including the firecaper to get my first firecape.

For the people saying using pb is bad cause of the high ban rate, you knew the risk of running a bot on your account; you knew that on the day you started playing the game. So if you have anyone to blame, blame yourself cause the bot did not install itself on your comp and certinaly did not run itself.

If you got hacked, it was because you fell for a phishing site or it might have occurred in the case of when a guy named Gh0st got access to pb's password file directory. Still not pb's fault. No botting site sets out to hack it's member's runescape accounts; that's like saying that if you get banned using simba scripts, then using simba has a high ban rate.

I have been botting for 2 years and I have achieved 10 99's during that time with no infractions or bans. L2Bot wisely

I'm a script writer on powerbot (rank and all that shit), and I can say that the ban rate is false. I've personally had over 200 people get 99's with my herblore/fletching/runecrafting scripts, none have been banned. Also, the mass hacking wasn't done by powerbot itself, and that won't ever happen again.

You really shouldn't download random shit from youtube you know. I'm certain powerbot doesn't hack. I have been using it for a very long time… Epicbot i'm not sure. I'm using that since PB is down and Simba doesn't friking work anymore.

All of these people are dumb. Powerbot is better than Simba. Also, the ban rate isn't high if you use Contributor's scripts. Don't just use some random iron powerminer…

They cannot hack you. If they do, they will go to prison. It is against there TOS as a company.

I got hacked last year in January or something by the GHO$T thing, and i'm still kind of mad about that.

Overall, I don't think you should worry about being hacked. However, the dungeoneering bots on there are not very good, and the client is currently very buggy. Stick to simba for now (Even epicbot is better than powerbot atm.)

"Get banned in a matter of seconds" - Source? I have 24/7d before the botnuke for weeks on end without getting banned. Not saying it is safer than Simba in terms of bannability but it isn't "horrible" there are worse options.

The honest truth (Back on topic), with a closed source bot there is just no way to trust it/know for a fact it is safe. We know the bot owners have had trouble in the past doing the right thing, there is no guarantee it is safe now.

Man these threads piss me off, they always lead to the same useless arguments…

Biggest botting community? For leachers maybe. I remember the day when it was the joke of the botting community, back before the bot nuke. Still is imo. I was personally using the dungeoneering bot whilst the mass hack happened, and had lost wealth on all accounts I used it on. They've never had premium scripts as far as I know, at least promoted by the website themselves for use on their client. And that is one of the reasons why it's such a high ban rate, mainly because of the bad free scripts(which is pretty much the same with any bot you use).
And if all that doesn't change your mind, once their client came back I signed into it with 3 different accounts, scrambling the information on 2 of them. On the 3rd I just typed out my information. Just recently after weeks of inactivity on the account I signed into to find that it was signed into by somebody else earlier that day. Coincidence? I don't think so. Good thing it was an account with no wealth.
