I had runescape open in the regular internet browser/ logged in and playing the game

and.. also
I had runescape open in the SMART client/ logged in to the same account but in the lobby.

this would probably turn out pretty bad wouldn't it?

Has anyone been logged in the same account twice and know what happens?

nothing happens. you could be in the same house, and have 2 computers, and be told to get off one computer and than move to another computer/laptop to continue playing .
its fine.

You can't login to the same account twice past the lobby, it kicks you out. However you can login into more than one account onto the same world
