Ok guys I have some general questions, but please post as much information as you can! I need to do some things and I have to be careful about them :p.

but… How exactly does it work? what are the rules, and how do you guys go about transferring display names?

I know there is like, you have to wait 30 days, but say if I change my name from "poop" to "Luke", is poop still mine for only 30 days, or is it mine forever, until I change my name for a SECOND time, like from "Luke" to "noob", then is Luke held in reserve for me forever, or until my next change, and poop becomes available?

Pretty sure if you changed from poop to luke, poop would be unavalible for 30 days still then avalible to anyone who wants it.

It's held for an additional 7 days after you are able to change your name again.

For example, you change your name from George to Frank. You are unable to change your name from Frank to something else for 30 (or is it 28?) days. After those 30 days, George is held for an additional 7 days. Once those 7 are up it is free for the taking.

Can anyone confirm the 7 days after the second change? And is it 28 days or 30? Everyone seems to be conflicting with this, any pros out there :p?

Is this the runescape name or SRL name? If it's SRL name then I'm interested as well…
If its runescape name, then just login on the homepage and go to account settings and it should be visible from there

thanks but I've already looked at that. They have several confusing and or conflicting peices of information.

"When a player changes their name, after 6 weeks their old name will be available for another player to use - regardless of the fact that the player will still be able to log into their account using their old name (until someone else takes it).".

6 weeks, 7 days a week, is 42 days. but yet…

"Once a user has chosen a new Display Name, his or her old one will be held for an amount of time. The name will be held for the 28 days in which the user may not change his or her name, and then for at least 7 more days, depending on the time the original name was held. "

28 days + 7 days, is 35 days..?

I'd also like to point out that it says "at least 7 days". That isn't too terribly helpful, as I need an exact number to precisely transfer the display name :(…

I maybe just be confusing myself with the information above, if anyone can make it more clear - please do!

From my experience…
After you name change from One to Two,
One is going to be held for the ENTIRE 30 days untill you are able to name change again, which is 30 days, + 7 days it will be held for you.
After the name change there is a little sign that is blue/green at the left of your name. It appears telling others that you've name changed from One to Two. After 30 days that blue/green sign goes away. After it goes away you have an additional 7 days to revert back to One before it becomes available to someone else.

However… during those 7 days IF you name change Two, to three, One will automatically be availlable for trade to a new account. That new account must also be a member, as name change is a member only feature. When you choose to name change is YOUR choice.

If after the 30 days you name change 2 days later, from Two to Three, One will automatically be available. If you name change 3 days later, then One will be available then.

This is pretty much it…

Thank you SOOOOO much! that made it very clear, and I also now understand how I can pick to choose the name whenever I'm ready, that way i can transfer it whenever in that 7 day period after the 30 day wait, and get it before someone can steal it.
