I was thinking that it would be kinda cool if SRL users could vote for their favorite script every month, and user who made that script would be Scripter of the month.

What do you think?

Wizzup, Fakawi and Dankness.

You could make it: Best New script of the month. The script has to be released in the last month. That way a script never gets the price twice :)

Well, maybe there should be rule that you can't be Scripter of the month for 2 months in row.

And when voting for the script, you shouldn't just vote because script is very good. But you should vote for script that is made nicely, maybe some newcomer and so on. And if someone makes some rare scripts.

It's good idea to make php site for it, but we could also organize it with simple poll & topic where people can nominate and vote.

I'm in on this idea, however, it's dankness that will have to code it :)
And he seems to be busy allll the time.
I think that you should be able to be scripter of the month for two months, but not more.. (I'm not certain about the two months. I will have to think about it)..

Its a good idea in a way.. But then there would be same winners each month..

i think there should be rules, EX.

Wizzup, Fawki, Suminlion, Lorax, and so on o THINK are all Devs, correct? nothign agianst them, (because they're obviously better scripters then us :p) but maybe it can just be for the SRL members, and it wouldent require much work, just in one of the sections have a '#1 script of the month' and the poll can be a thread under that, but the '#1 Script thread, can just be locked with the winners name, until the next month.

Competition is always cool though. It might motivate people (such as myself) to produce something. lawl.

Yeah… I actually think I have never seen one Best newcomer. :D

I think developers should be able to participate, you should see it as a chance to compete against the developers..
Prove(sp?) your worth..
Or perhaps it should be awarded by Developers?
I'm not sure yet, but people tend to vote for scripts by scripters who is populare.
But there could be a "Best scripter of the month" / "Best SRL Member scripter of the month" to ensure that a SRL member gets awarded..
Also if this comes out, there will be no begging for voting for your script (same rules as for reputation).. This only leaves you with problems in the end..
Perhaps Developers should be excluded.. you're correct that we have an advantage, because we are more experienced..

I was thinking that we create new thread every month where user's can nominate SOMEONE ELSE's scripts, not their own. Maybe nominating should be members only, because members know differences in bad and good scripts.

At end of month, we would make a new poll that has all those nominates and in this poll normal users can vote for their favorite.

I think SRL Developers shouldn't choose the winner, but the normal users should.

Well SRL members should choose. There are tons of noobs in the free section that don't know any better thinking that some scripts are the best thing ever.

Simple.

–> SRL members and above vote only.
–> Script must be released in that month.
–> More than one person can get it, but like I said, the script MUST be released that month.


So, unless Fawki/Wizzup? released a leet script once a month, we don't have to worry :)

We should vote from the 1-5th in the next month then, so that you wouldn't have to release scripts the first in the month.. also if your script was released 25-31 you should be able to participate in next months competition?

Hmmm, yes, but perhaps we should do it each quarter of a year, I think you might get less competitors otherwise :). You can always go to each month if there are too many people …

If you did quarters of years, then the winner would always be a dev+ higher. Cuz they always release swcripts. Unless someone made a big leep or someting. I ilke the one month idea ;P
