I am sick and TIRED of people complaining about "respectable" 99's. I was just browsing the forums and found one that caught my eye: Runespan script request. To release or not to release, that is the question. On the bright side, 99 Runecrafting will be a lot quicker. On the "dark" side, it will be more common and thus no longer "respectable". Seriously? On a botting site? To those of you who think this: you believe you deserve respect botting a "respectable" 99? It just really, really bothers me. It is basically saying, "Don't make this a public script because my 99 will no longer be respectable and I am greedy, I only want to benefit me." :fiery: What are your thoughts? I want to hear them, be it positive comments or arguments, I want to hear 'em.

Who said I botted 99 rc? Lol. I'm just upset that every update Jagex makes devalues my achievements that I have made legit. I have a completionist cape and have been max overall since ~2008 without botting so seeing updates that make the skill so simple is just dumb.

Only RC Updated I like so far is the pouch.. Other than that I never tried the minigame so I can't hate yet.

It's like woodcutting ivy for rc exp.
I personally HATE it when people who aren't SRL members say they won't release a script to the public. I know, I was once like that… and it makes people look very greedy. I also respect those with good cause who are looking to make people strive to become SRL members. OT on the 99's there are no disrespectable 99's, just more uptight people who legitted theirs

I personally don't mind this - because the truth is someone else will then make the script and release it to public.
OT: No such thing as a 'disrespectable' 99

Personally I think everyone can decide for themselves what to release and what not to release. The only con I see is that it is one script less at which the source can be read. We are also a learning community.

Cooking or fletching. Would fit the term 'not respectable' better.

Ever since the introduction of bots/clients/scripts, no skill is respectable, too be honest.

If someone takes the time to sit down and create a script, it's their choice if they release it or not. Who are you to say they're being greedy?

Seriously, who cares what skill is "respectable". At the end of the day a 99 is simply two digits on the highscores - whether you bothered to do it yourself or you botted it. If you don't like people undermining your 99's by botting, why are you on a botting forum?

Last post I'll make regarding this…the only thing that was meant by me saying it is no longer respectable is that the time/effort spent to get 99 runecrafting has been decreased, which makes people that already had 99 runecrafting feel like "Wow I just put so much effort into this skill and now you can AFK and get more exp/hr than I did putting in effort". My statement had NOTHING to do with botting/releasing a script. I could care less if a script is released for it but there already is a couple anyone because it's so simple.
Just think about it…if you see some guy with 99 cooking untrimmed cape what do you think? Now think about someone with a 99 runecrafting cape. Of course this example depends on how you play runescape(if you are a pker or whatever you likely wont care) but still, lots of people play runescape to skill.
Also highscores are the reason that some people play if you didn't know, setting goals and achieving them is the fun part of runescape for me.
Anyway, sorry for saying what I did, I don't take it back but I can see how some people don't even view any skilling in runescape as an achievement.

I was ranting about "Respectable 99's" sorry if I confused you. Anyway, thanks for the answers, guys. :)

the new pouch degrades so you have to buy it pretty much after 2 hours. My friend has used 4 massive pouches so far.. and the repair rune pouch spell does not work on it either.
Legit 99 is not so respectable either IMO, when it only showed how many hours you have put to grind through the mess.
Just forget about this crap and move on. There's no reason to hate anyone for that. It's just a game, not to mention most of us here are botters/cheaters ;)

The only respectable (as in requires lots of time spent training/gathering resources or cannot be botted) 99's nowadays are prayer, herb, construction, dungeoneering, etc. That is why people like zezima quit cause no one raises an eyebrow anymore for 200m cook.

That's pretty much the truth of it.
no rs player/skill is respectable (they are just no life to grind skill if they are legit, needless to say if u bot it), only great scripters :)
There is no point for any scripter to not release a runespan bot (or maybe any bot) as it is probably one of the easiest thing to make a bot for, to the extent that u can make it under 2mins…
I feel rather sad for Flight whose well-made zmi is going to get obsolete :(

Yeah ha, such is life I suppose. Jagex is making claims that Runecrafting altars will be taken out and runes will be produced via the Runespan eventually. Kinda defeats the purpose of a few of my scripts. We'll just have to focus on making a bullet-proof Runespan to compensate for this upcoming change.

ZMI-Extreme will be forever remembered, no matter what happens. But I still think that the oldschool RC will remain, because they're still somewhat profitable and they should balance RC that way to give people more options anyway.
And yes, I agree we need a well-thought script to deal with all levels of Runespan. I guess that's your next thing, right?

perhaps the fact that everyone has moved to runespan will drive rune prices up a bit? making zmi a bit more profitable to those who don't mind less xp/hr
