Computer Build

Building a computer!

Ok, so, I have 3 other roommates, we all play Runescape, and we all bot. As far as I know, we all have 2 accounts.

We want to build our own computer to run 8-12 bots at a time (3/person maybe), with no lag.

What would be a good build? The optimal build would be $600 or less, bc we'd each only have to spend $150 on the computer which we've already discussed.

But if it would be that much better, what would an $800 build do for us? Would it be a better processor…?

Anyway, all suggestions are welcome! And thanks.

I think 16gb of ram is enough to handle 8 bots with little to no lag and you can still surf while that is going.

intel i7 or i5 processor will be sufficient

Look it up; lots of vids on yt, I even have a "building a PC for Dummies" E-Book I can give you if you want it. PM me

Well, I know we can build it. I'm more looking for suggestions for the parts to buy.

Pretty sure the CPU would be used up before the 16GB of RAM

Ok, so I don't need a video card with that setup…why? Because the motherboard has onboard graphics, right?

graphics card is irrelevant, you can always minimise/disable graphics.
You're after computational power, i.e get the best CPU you can afford, then worry about the rest

Graphics card is irrelevant? I know the one im running right now cant render 3d graphics if it isnt built into the software, so graphics is definitely important. You dont need the super high end ones for runescape, but be sure your buying one less than maybe 7 years old

Yup, need as must processing power as possible.

Take a look around at other's threads here and see what they built theirs with. You can get a really crappy graphics card because it's really not needed.

You left out the case, OS, and power supply.
