For all those who don't know, there is an ominous coundown on the official RS forums that ends Saturday. It was put up by Mod Timbo a while ago, but I wanted to see what people think about it in a poll!

All it says is talk about it in the Grand Exchange, Catherby, and Ardy.

What do you guys think:

could it be Optimus (slated for very soon)?

New skill? Sailing maybe (all these locations are near water)?

publicity for the new Runecrafting update?

Keep in mind these are just the main ideas on the official thread. Ucantseemebot has some interesting thoughts on his thread :)

I see your valid point there, but there are quite a few RS worlds and there are a lot of people who can't get on to runescape at that exact moment to check it out.

I hope they have cool events like that, but logistics on an event like that would be a nightmare. (not that I don't think its possible) So, I hope they at least post things on the forum after.

Optimus…I'm just too sure of it.

Well its not an event, there's something that's going to happen temporarily and this might be to test out a future update they are planning, when they test this out, people will see it. and when people see it, people will remember that from the past. get the point?

I think it's going to be some new skill, or graphic rework in those areas. I doubt sailing is going to be a skill though.

I'm 100% sure that it will be graphic rework. It's still soon for a new skill

This has my vote as well; graphical rework. I doubt a new skill would be limited to 3 very specific areas in Runescape. Also, what mini-game has ever been spread across 3 towns?

I read somewhere that the runespan minigame was in fact three different minigames…two are P2P and one is F2P…. not sure if that would explain the possible reason for three different starting locations…..

In any case I will endeavor to be online at the conclusion of the timer to see what all the hoopla is about….

It's going to be an update to resolve the FPS issues that many people have. It also might be that thing about the island east of Al Kharid that some guy figured out by adding the letter numbers and such.

I can't help but feel that the countdown is ominous. Something that will really mark the downfall of Runescape.

I did vote for Sailing in the poll, however. Just for the nostalgia.

Maybe 'See the future' has something to do with runecrafting… I'm looking forward to this as well and plan to make a script for it :cartman:

I second that, I'm stuck between hoping for a new skill and wishing for a Runecrafting update… but I really want to see something unexpected and amazing (like a new continent or something).

Most of all, I think this thing on the forum has given jagex way more suggestions on good content to add than anything else.

My guess is no content, only an "event", like the strage power event, or the lame ass rock falling form the sky for citadel.

There is now a Dev blog about the Runespan out, so im assuming its that.

Edit: that still doesn't explain why there are 3 locations posted in the thread, as runespan appears to only have 1 entrance?

There is a fountain in the dead center of the grand exchange.
Catherby- Need I say more. It's a fishing village
Ardougne. Several fountains plus underground sewers

Altars.
Ardougn Monastery
Edgeville Monastery
Entrana.

it's not optimus, it's so obvious it's not optimus. it says it's in ardougne, catherby and the grand exchange, on the events list it says it is based in the grand exchange. it also says it is a one time thing and if you're not there you will miss it, and that if you are there you will see " a glimpse of the future". NOT OPTIMUS SO STOP SAYING IT!

I just read the dev blog on runespan, which I must admit, was the best read I had on that website. Anyways, it appears that runespan will be all around the (currently empty) floating islands around the RC guild.

i guess we'll have to wait and see. its only about 16hrs or so. i HOPE ITS SAILING. that completely slipped my mind. unno if it'll be graphics though if you think about it the ge was just redone. but they have been doing alot of double changes these days. lamp screen fpor 1
