And if you remember this then you had an even better childhood, and adulthood(if you still play it).

everyone's mentioned gameboy, i've got my n64 in my wardrobe with zelda, goldeneye, banjo kazooie, diddy/donkey kong, the southpark game and a few others,
N64 4 Lyf.
personally i think retro games gave you more incentive to play, they were GAMES. not a competition to see who could pull of the best graphics or have the best online features
mmmm zelda.

While the classic games are amazing, I would say that some modern games are just as good in a different way. Not all, or even most, but some.

They were pushing it to the limits too, zelda ocarina of time took all the resources the nintendo 64 had. It was on the edge. When it was released that was what they considered a realistic looking 3D game, just like you where really there. Of course the playstation and xbox had a more powerful cpu and graphicscard and took over the place of number one graphics. The gamecube was created to deliver even more fantastic graphics, which nintendo lost btw. The WII was the first nintendo console which they didn't cared about the graphics.

N64 was the best console, and had the best games. I've played every single Zelda game out there, I believe. I stopped playing pokemon after Gold/Silver. All the new and stupid pokemon made me quit.
I still have my original Gameboy (Black and White) and Gameboy Color. Sadly, someone stole my Red, Blue and Yellow pokemon cartridges :(
