So, I don't know about you guys but, I feel like runescape is just getting worse and worse in terms of entertainment value, for me atleast. I've botted pretty much 95% of my account and I'm at around 1500 total level which is nice, I;ve gotten two 99's so far, and working on my third.

The only thing that kept me playing was long term merchanting or flipping which was kinda thrilling in a way. Now that there was sort of a nerf to it, not really but a small cap on how much you can make per 4 hours, I find myself to logg on less to play the game, and instead just run a bot, and play some other games, like league of legends in the meanwhile.

I never legit skill anything just simply because,

a) the profit is so low it's not even worth my time
b) Super lame/boring

What keeps you guys playing this game? Watching your cash pile grow? Is there a personal attachment to the game?

I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about it, since I am at the verge of calling it quits. Anyways, thanks for taking your time to read this wall of text ;)

EDIT: Then focus on scripting.

Nothing keeps me in the game. Call it quits, you'll get your life back. Even with botting, you tend to check on your bots often, make sure that they're working well, and you always try to experiment with new bots and try to make them work, blah blah blah. After Jagex's squeal of fortune update, I was convinced that Runescape was definitely being milked for its money, and if you stick around, you're not gonna get much of it.

Sorry for the unoptimistic post, but thats my opinion. Others may beg to differ, but thats what opinions are all about.

Yeah, looking back at these two months since coming back, (I hadn't played or touched the game for like 5 years) I realized I was starting to be sucked into this childish mindset of, Ohhh it's all about the money, which drew me into making a small two man bot army who gold farm for me all day, even then I'm only at around a 40-50m bank. It's quite sad how grindy this game is and how little satisfaction you get back from it,

I find LoL to be so much more fun and a quite enjoyable past time, you talk to people on skype, laugh your ass off at noobs, etc. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it :)

Wanna know the best way to call it quits from RS?

Sell your account to gold4rs. Its like jumping into a swimming pool, you just have to do it, then you're good to go.

If you try to sell your account on playerauctions or something, you have to stick around, wait for it to sell, blah blah blah, and by that time something happens and more blah blah blah. Before you know it, you'll be RS'ing again.

Botting 95% of it, well of course its going to be boring, you aren't doing anything yourself. Sure skilling can be boring but when you have some people to talk to it makes it much easier. I enjoy questing. 298QP so far. There is SO much you can do in rs… I dont know WHAT you are talking about when you say its boring.

i started in it's golden age i haven't logged for 2 months but ive just gone back to games i used to play such as WoW but not retail because thats crap so i play a priv server :)
i dont play the serv much i go out more since i stopped worrying about RS also

The game was fine when they introduced the trading limit. I enjoyed it very much, considering there was minimalized goldfarming, thus no gold selling, which in the end lead to items in runescape having some value in the game itself.

Now, nothing has any value at all. Its extremely easy to attain any item these days.

Should I host a SRL 40M giveaway or just dice it away? Maybe buy some rs private server gold? o:

Depends on the type of person you are/what you like in a game. Runescape is a very grindy game. You do the same thing over and over which some people find fun to do in their spare time. If you botted 95% of your account, chances are you don't really like the game, just the achievements within it. You could either try it out legit or go play some LoL. :p

You obviously don't enjoy the game if you only bot and don't like doing anything legit.
