This may be a bit of a noob question and/or already have been answered (can't see it has though), but basically when I hit the 'Disable SMART' button on the client it causes a message in my chat box on runescape and it just seems a bit obvious/bot like, when everytime i interupt my bot the chat message appears.
Just wondered if it can be changed!
Is this why it happens? I thought it was random :s
Anyway, chat messages do not seem bot-like and I'm 99% sure Jagex doesn't monitor how many times you check for new messages in correlation to botting.

It cannot be changed without a ton of work if possible. Smart uses the alt tab method of tabbing into the game to gain focus. it's been this way since the beginning of time and won't do you any harm.
The message you get is that you do not have any messages to respond too or something like that in the black chat message of the chat box and it's fine.

"Dude check this out, this guy checked for messages 3 times already"
"Ban him!"

It's just that, if anyone that had the intention of bringing Simba down(ie Jagex employee), they could just monitor the rate at which people pres the tab button and get botters in an easier way.
