As I was about to set a script up to let it run overnight, I witnessed a random event (Bob the cat) appear as soon as I closed my bank, and hit enable SMART.
When the usual dialogue "No…what…nooo" or something along those lines popped up, the cat teleported, but before my character went with him, the script I set up had clicked the bank booth, which caused the cat to leave without me, therefore avoiding the event altogether.

Has anyone ever encountered a mishap like this?
Maybe someday we'll find the basis of this loophole and be able to use it to avoid randoms.

Wtf Nice.. I can say I have never had this happen but I've had weirder unlucky thing's happen lol.. but that's secret SRL Member stuff.. :)

heh, i'll try and join SRL ranks this summer, and yeah I've been playing before rs2 beta and I haven't seen this occur within over 500 days of game time. Thought it was lag at first, but it continued on as usual, so it just skipped the event.

This never happened to me. That;s like 1 on 1m cases. ;p

I've actually heard of things like this happening before, eg. randoms being cancelled because they appeared just after the person clicked on something and they were lagging.
Seems like something worth looking into but I highly doubt we could get enough information to be able to beat randoms consistently (and wouldn't doing this also make us look even MORE bot-like then logging out of randoms?)

I've never known of anything like this. It seems all off the events planned out perfectly and the random event was avoided.

Actually nothing happened, you were in a bank, the text and Bob show up to everyone, you were not the target of that random, it was someone else standing right under you at the bank that got the random and got teleported, go to a furnace in edgeville and you see stuff like this all the time.

Tldr: It was not a glitch because it was not your random =)

i dunno, once i went into the gravekeeper random (those coffins)

just talked to the guy, and he let me out, never even touched the coffins, randoms have been weird for ever :P

something like this happened me last week. but it must be a bugg which will be fixed soon :/

The worst is the mime. I got stuck in one for aaagesss.

There was this bug that meant I always wrong every time. Can't remember how I got back because I can't remember getting any correct(even though I was). :cartman:

lol guess it saved you a few minutes. i hate bob the cat i wish he would eat a rat that got into some poison.

next time i get a random legit playing im gonna try to get out of it by clicking objects. i would love to be able to skip randoms. i read somewhere that jagex might put a way to skip randoms though. that'll be nice. ill give up the exp lamp to not have to do em anymore

How do you know? He says the player's name and I'm sure he saw his name.

yeah those random bugs have been happening during this week. I can say that something weird happened to me, I was in f2p (pkin) in 40+ area alone. And for some reason a clan finds me and starts attacking me (Tele-Blocked me). as you may know thats wat was expected to happen. But when i had 4-5 food left, i got a random and it took me away. Of course i logged out and changed worlds.

Yeah I think I'm gunna agree with Demise on this one. There has been multiple times where I thought bob random was mine but it was really just someone under me.

This occurred at 5am EST, I was the only one in the bank in yanille in a seldom used world about to run YEMP. It was most definitely my own random, and the text came from my character when encountered, along with bob calling the character's name if I remember correctly. Wouldn't bother posting it if I weren't sure of it.

LOL! That happened to me once when I accidentally moved away from the Dung lobby, and got teleported to the gravedigger random immediately. :P
