I haven't worked out in a while. I recently was incapacitated(correct term i think) for four months after a car accident, and during therapy i realized just how weak I've become in the last few years.

I read online that p90x has some equipment requirements, namely a pull up bar. I could buy one, havent checked prices but i will.

p90x is more for toning, and building up, where insanity is cario and endurance.

I definetly want to build up, but cardio is def a weak point for me, so any suggestions on which i should do first?

my info source:
http://trek2befit.com/p90x-vs-insanity

are there any other similar work out programs? google returned only these two =\

Good to hear your up for a challenge, and due to your situation I recommend building up first with the basics, as you cannot build a house unless you have a strong foundation. As for your cardio situation, if its an issue for you check with your doctor before commencing moderate physical activity, always good to know where you are and what your capable of. If you're interested I could help you with a training routine, its up to you :)

Iv been doing the basics for about a month now =]. First with therapy, and my mother got a family plan for a ggym and pool. I can start them both, although at the beginning it will probably be harder, which is to be expected.

Also, seeing as I used to be very active, and I will be doing these at home, I don't think there will be any medical problems =]

p90x is very intense… I own the CDs. They incorporate everything. I would definitely recommend it. So your cardio needs work… p90x seems as if its built for the extreme experts but really anyone can start from any level. Just because the workout is built for 45minutes (say a particular one, there were like 7-8 45minute cds or something, i can quite remember fully) its designed in a way that a beginner can do say 1/3 of the work and as he/she continue to train they then do 1/2 work, 3/4 and when the time is right full 4/4. My dad did the workout and even though he wasnt very commited, doing the full thing, there was still a big improvement in him.

I too was in a car accident 2 months ago, and its still going to take a while for me to heal. I too noticed the weakness, but what can you do when you are still healing. I mean of course you are going to feel weak, all I do is sit around. Cant wait for physio and to be able to train again.

P90x is easier than Insanity in terms of pure heart health, I would recommend insanity for building some pretty insane endurance otherwise just stick to P90x for muscle building.

endurance sounds good. I found i wasnt able to run the full mile to the therapists twice a week =[

That will change =\

Good to hear that you were physically active, muscle memory is your friend in this case ;). About the gym plan, make sure you change it around every week or so, just to get your muscles confused. This way they don't adapt to the training routine. Quick question do you have a gym membership? Or any gym equipment at home if so what equipment do you have?

Ah alright then, well if your up for a challenge after a month maybe two, I have a plan which I got from a friend of mine which I've changed around its for cutting down, I must say it's quite intense! Pm if you're up for it :). All the best with future muscle development n weight loss! :)

Edit: Also its essential that you have a healthy and steady diet! While gyming ect :).
