Hey, I was working on a new HTML file, just to mess around, Ad I thought it looked nice, So I wanted to critisizem on if I did alright. here's the code ,

Tutorial

.

Tutorial

How we're going to start is by making HTML tags.

HTML tags look like this, "
".

Now that you have your HTML tags, you need to Make a heading.

Head tags look like this, "
". Your code should look like this, now, "

"

Now, you're going to want to put a Title.

Title tags are what tells you what the Title is. Title tags look like this, "
Put your title here.
" Your code should look like this, now, "

<marquee behavior="scroll" bgcolor="#ffffff" loop="-1" width="40%">This text will scroll from right to left.</marquee>

This is always fun to use. I used to love experimenting with html and such. Tried so hard to find out how to have text scroll like this.

You have your
tag all wrong and you're missing the DOCTYPE, should be like:

Cool title here

Body content here

You're missing the body tag, see above on how to use it.

You're way of doing the tags is very messy, try to keep them all on one line if possible.

You can only have one HTML tag per page, per W3C standards.

Make sure you close all your tags as well.

Here's a cleaned up version:

Tutorial

Tutorial

How we're going to start is by making HTML tags.

HTML tags look like this:

Head tags look like this,

. Your code should look like this, now,

Now, you're going to want to put a Title.

HTML5 Tutorial

HTML5 Tutorial

Doctype

Ok we need a doctype. A doctype tells the browser what standard to use to process your html file.

Syntax

Parameters

DOCTYPE - The doctype you would like to use.

Example

HTML5 Doctype

Tags - html, head, body

There are html, head, and body tags, but we will ignore them as they are completely optinal as of HTML5.

Tag - Title

Now, you're going to want to put a Title, this will be the title the browser (and Google) identifies your page as.

Syntax

TITLE

Parameters

TITLE - The title you would like to use.

Example

My Title

Also, NEVER use the marquee tag. We are in 2012, not 1980!

You don't declare a doctype, and you don't set the character encoding. Btw, it looks ugly because of the formatting you use..

Are you sure you're a good host for a contest? ;)

Thanks, guys, I'll start on that right now. I wasn't meaning to make a website or anything, jus a basic little practice. Just to mess around, ya' know? Also, Kyle, I've only used marquee tags once, and decided that I hated it. I'll post update on my progress as I go.

Troll the layout is disgusting (Code wise) You do know you don't have to indent everything? :P

Have a look at some other website codes
Right click the page and look for properties :)

also learn to use Div Tags :)

HTML = google; Although takes practice to master :).
Btw you should change title, and keep progressing with it until it's kinda in the intermediate level.

Good Luck Mate!

Thanks! I'm almost done with my new one. I need a domain that allows you to have a *.com for free. So you guys can see what the website looks like. :P

What? You can use some free host like 000webhost or even host it at your house.
