I wonder if it is opimus related. Like a way to detect botters of some kind. A few player asked if it was related to optimus and the jmod just dodged the question.

Hmm ill be checking constantly on this..Might be preparation on optimus :(

I'm curious if they will implement their new botting system earlier and wait to announce that they had done it.

I don't think the JMods would want people to know when it will actually hit, so it's rather smart of them to not let any word out about it…

It isn't necessarily a good thing. It probably won't stop color, but it might stop Trilez's new bot that he is releasing soon. It would be a sad thing for him to have wasted so much time developing it.

I doubt it… first his bot is a color/opengl hybrid….and to my knowledge he is the FIRST to be releasing opengl to the best of my knowledge, so Jagex has never actually even seen one much less had one to work on disabling.

I hope Trilez's bot continues to humm along….. seems like an outstanding person.

its gonna be the same thing as 2 weeks ago. they need to prepare they're systems for the comming update. prob gonna release RC minigame/huge pouch next week.

My thoughts is an IP snake… It finds your IP and tracks all logins of macro-relation and makes a tidy little loot bag out of your accounts.

They can ban you out of suspicious IP?
If they do implement something like that (which actually sounds like a good idea for them) it would most likely tag all the accounts on your IP for suspicion (Increasing ban rates by something like 65%)

My honest opinion, this is going to be a patch that first of all will fix something things in preparation for a large content patch (something that will have a large affect on the game) and/or will be the first step of optimus, possibly even something similar to the above idea (quite possibly the second part will be a ghost patch and will not appear in patch notes).

On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if they're preparing for some sort of nuke. But again, prioritizing color over injection/reflection sounds stupid to me, especially when they actually said they thought we're *quite rubbish* in a public statement. ;)

i think they are getting ready to take out injection/reflection bots again. Powerbot is back therefore they gotta act quick before RS name is ruined again

If they were to tag ALL of your accounts, you could appeal and have a 90% chance of getting a few of those back by saying "It was my brothers account you bastards!" If they do suspicious macroing, and they give you an evidence piece, then you have a lower chance of getting it back.
I also think they might find 1 bot, and snake through the friends list for other suspicious bot behaviour. I GARUNTEE that optimus is a snake, because then they have something they can monitor and watch even AFTER the nuke. But then again, they may just be watching my post and I just created Optimus…

i dont think that they could ban out of suspisious IP, sometimes there is 5 or 6 accounts running here legit if you count my 2 brothers who play occasionally, my account plus sometimes i or my brothers will have a few friends over also.

plus there are alot of households where everyone plays rs, weather its mom and dad monitoring etc while the kids play.

what most players feel is that they are now in it for the money so i wont be expecting optimus at all, i dont even feel that they are fighting botting anymore, that will only do it, i believe, if they were to open a micro transaction store themselves, besides SOF, to sell gold, items and so

Well, there's always ways to hide your DLL from being detected. And I believe Mod Mark already said this update won't be for color bots, but for the remaining reflection/injection bots.
