I need to see the minimap and inventory. That's what's used to detect both randoms.
E: Also, doesn't the lock screen appear right away? Or do you always have to click the cage to bring it up?

Oops, I didn't have minimap & inventory because I was trying to save space for my screensnapr.
And I'm not sure, I was afk when this happened, but I already solved it on my own. I'll let you guys know if it happens again.

It will vary, I've witnessed both instances, usually I don't have to click, but on occasion I'll have to initiate the lock screen by clicking the cage.
