I don't really play the p2p game except a minimal amount of questing and legit training. I used to see a lot of people asking for Pest control and Soul Wars scripts, I actually quite don't get why. I know you can use them to get combat XP, but is it better than doing the training on monsters?

What are the general merits of playing these minigames anyway? Or is it actually a good method to level up combat compared to training?

A lot of people like me play clan wars for fun as you can try your max or just have fun killing others :)

Very questionable exp rate thou

Well you get the best of both worlds if you play in Pest Control as well as Soul Wars. XP while fighting in-game (the rate is reduced for Pest Control, however) as well as the XP from the rewards. There are monsters to fight in Soul Wars, not to mention the other team. One might even use Sacred Clay items for double XP.

I recommend spending some time and doing both. Switch from NPC-killing to combat minigames. No one said you had to make a choice between the two.

Soul wars is best because you get 1-3 zeals per game which you exchange for even MORE experience.

So you spend all game fighting in a multi combat area, getting experience and on top of that 1-3 zeals can be exchanged to 6k-20k experience, depending on your lvl. 1 zeal for a loss, 2 zeals for tie, 3 zeals for win.

If you are training magic, you get even MORE experience barraging ppl since there are so many of them.

I am 70 70 53 melee and I'm wondering whether I should work 85str (or hopefully 99) on minigames instead of botting on monsters. Maybe I'll look into using Pinky's PC script, it sounds fun and the recommendation points seem to buy more than XP, right?

SW is alot after if u go 85-99… 100 points genually equals one level:)

You can also get slayer xp from soul wars. Before the nuke there were quite a few sw botters that had low level accounts with 99 slayer.

yea man go for soul wars, pest controll is a good one also but soulwars is alot more fun, plus once you cash in some zeals for some major exp you will be glad you played.

also if you havnt already you can do nomad's quest and get the 100 zeals for completing the quest. i used that to get some major att exp.

I guess my stats is miles away from that. I only got p2p since Feb and my melee sucks like crap :D

If you can make a SW script then SW it's best.

Soul wars trains the non-botable skills like slayer (well currently unbotable) so it's very useful. PC also trains prayer at a decent rate while giving some coins. Fist of Guthix offers free mage exp and a ton of hybrid practice ;) Castle Wars offers prayer boosting halos (I WANT) and a nice prayer boosting shield with decent stats. That about covers them.

I would go for Pest Control… Pinkys script works flawlessly (I've never personally used it but the feedback seems good). I could get roughly 60k exp an hour doing it manually without a bot. Hope I was some sort of help >.<

Soulwars in the only way that people who want to bot slayer can currently bot slayer.

Botting soul wars is super obvious in my opinion.
