So I wanted to go buy an account today. I made an MSN, went on a certain botting site, and surfed away. I found a nice account for 46 million RSGP. I contact the buyer, a MM, and everything was set. I multilogged on my mule and main, ready to trade the 46m to my mule. Guess what? My whole computer crashes and shuts down. I'm like, "Ok, not too bad. They'll understand." I go back on and rush to log onto my main. Guess what? "Your account has not logged out from the last session". Okay..not too bad. We wait, and wait…eventually, our MM gets tired of waiting. He offered me to log into my account if I gave him my info. I was waaayy too safe to do that..so..after 30 mins of waiting..I canceled the deal. Five minutes later, yay, I can log onto my account!…Guess what? What? I'm in Edgeville BANK!? But I was at the G.E.!…Guess where the 46mil had gone? In the end, lost 46 mil BUT they were nice enough to not drop my Chaotic! The only thing that strikes me as odd is: my computer CRASHED and then all of a sudden "Your account has not yet logged out from the last session." Odd? Very. GG.
P.S. They even blocked the IP.
Moral: NEVER TRUST RAREBOT

wow im surprised and scared at the same time. This is why SRL is the only legit runescape community on the web. This is why all those other communies are jealous at us. gf to your 46m and i did you get his ip when you logged in?

I am sure there are scammers on here too. Villavu is good because they only kept the black market to people of higher ranks. No one wants to risk there account getting banned.

^ also the Staff manage/organized the forums so good that there is such a low chance for scam incident compared to other forums :)
I remember when this happened to me - my computer got taken over and then all of a sudden my account was still signed in. I was still with some of my friends in RS, so I logged on to another account of mine and went back to where we were (GE). The guy that hacked me, stood there in front of me and took my money - I couldn't do nothing. My mates were pissing themselves but for me it was heartbreaking.
Anyways, then I took up hacking and got a whole load of accounts and plenty of RSGP… :)

How were you logging into rs? i'm not seeing how they could possibly get your account if you just logged in through normal means…

Lol yeah, that happened for me, but if you wait a few seconds it will show up..
theres a way to hide your ip when you log in so they can't find out.
Its been posted on sythe multiple times.
You just edit this text file thing and you can get what ever ip you want.

I'm thinking RAT but he's saying it was rarebot - which I think is unlikely.
In my opinion, he's still got the virus and he doesn't even know it :duh:

I hear about these RATs all day long. How do you get one of these on your computer? Go to some random porn site or sites that advertise rs hacks?

same here, from what i read OP did not give away his pw at all.
He offered me to log into my account if I gave him my info. I was waaayy too safe to do that..so..after 30 mins of waiting..I canceled the deal.
and then the conclusion he give:
Moral: NEVER TRUST RAREBOT
which could explain how he was hacked (keylogged by rarebot) but if thats the case the whole account buying thing is irrelevant?

I almost NEVER take my money out of the safety of my money pouch…RIGHT when I did withdraw the 46m (to give to my mule so I can buy the account), my computer just happened to crash. I find that strange…
