Voted yes.

You've been here over 5 months so there is no issue about longevity. Also, your activity is above 80% and I've seen you around the forums quite a bit, so personally I feel there is no problem with being a part of the community.

As far as the script is concerned, standards are off, but I'll leave a valued voter to explain in more detail. Having said that, looking at some progress reports the script looks very stable and can run for over 5 hours - which is very good.

One more thing - Simba is not a programming language, it's a program. I believe the language you're looking for is Pascal.

Good luck!

Thank You Abu Jwka, Much appreciated, My standards are off, but atm i am acutally reading about them here.

and thanks for clarifying pascal not Simba :P

Im voting no, Just a quick glance over the script, your using simple Object finding, Id like to see you make your own, not use FindObjPTA. You have infinite loops ! and your script doesnt support multiplayer ! And learn up about Records, they'll make yours script look a hell lot nicer with all your cases.

For an example of the use of records: (If you dont understand it, always use the search button :) )

type
TFill = record
Uptext, Description: TStringArray;
DTM, WetDTM, Outcome: integer;
end;

var
Equipment: TFill;

function LoadEquipment(which: string): TFill;
begin
case lowercase(which) of
'claying':
with Result do
begin
// Item := 'Wet Clay';
UpText := [''];
DTM := LoadDTM('wbucket');
WetDTM := LoadDTM('wclay');
Description := ['Softended', 'Clay[s]', 'Claying'];
end;
'w bucket':
with Result do
begin
// Item := 'Water Filled Bucket';
UpText := ['ket'];
DTM := LoadDTM('bucket');
WetDTM := LoadDTM('wbucket');
Description := ['Filled', 'bucket[s] with water', 'Filling'];
end;
'bucketclay':
with Result do
begin
// Item := 'Wet Clay';
UpText := ['ket'];
DTM := LoadDTM('bucket');
WetDTM := LoadDTM('wbucket');
Description := ['Softended', 'Clay[s] with bucket water', 'Claying/Filling'];
end;
'w vial':
with Result do
begin
// Item := 'Water Filled Vial';
UpText := ['Via'];
DTM := LoadDTM('Vial');
WetDTM := LoadDTM('wvial');
Description := ['Filled', 'Vials with water', 'Filing'];
end;
end;
end;

Use:

FindDTM(Equipment.DTM, xx, yy, MIx1, MIy1, MIx2, MIy2)

Has to be one of the worst, attempts of teaching records but, hope you understand how it works.

Your a very capable scripter, but Id like to see more out of you, Good luck :).

And @abu_jwka - A little tip, since your new to members, watch how the applications work and what other SRL Members look for in a application before voting.

Thanks :).

Just saying … that is a bad tutorial on records, but who knows, Evlin may be quick to catch on :p

Voted yes.

Side note:
I think it's fine to vote after you're accepted into Members. You see what we look for in your app, and if you're accepted, then you know the deal. That's just me :p

It is a nice script and you are getting closer to a yes vote then many other members but it just isn't enough to get into members in my opinion. I would like too see you try the following:

1. function/procedure that requires parameters.

2. function that shortens this:
      BoneSacraficed := BoneSacraficed + BonesForRun;
ExpGained := ExpGained + XpForRun;
TripNumber := TripNumber + 1;

3. shorter code overall

4. better standards

5. More functions

6. Add some failsafes

7. Remove the logic flaws (like in your walk back up method)

~Abu, im gonna have to agree on what BH says.
~Evlin, I voted no since there aren't TPAs and you're really simple object finding.

Good luck!

Abu, Your input is appreciated however voting the day after receiving membership yourself is a tad bit asinine. You have no clue what standards people are held to or how to vote. while there is no rule enforcing it it's generally a good idea to only comment and give input, at least for a few weeks.

Thanks,

EDIT: I guess BH also said something to you :p

I personally think it's fine. He got accepted into Members, so he knows what standards we judge on, since we told him in his app. That's just me though.

The "You have no clue" part seemed kind of harsh and inaccurate ;)

Voted no some time ago, didn't have time to reply, but seems that you have gotten basically every reason already explained why I voted no.

Bobbo said I should look at what others are looking for before voting - fine

Kyle disagreed and said I know the deal - also fine

S1N agreed with BH - fine

But where on earth did that just come from? I am really sorry for voting because judging by your response I feel like I've hurt you emotionally. I feel like I've just cut out a little piece of your heart that can never be replaced.

For that, I apologise

No seriously, I do.

abu_jwka was only trying to be helpful and responsive, some things above me did not have to be said.

OT: My list i've got so far…
1. function/procedure that requires parameters.|| What kind of functions do you mean by this?

2. function that shortens this:
Simba Code
BoneSacraficed := BoneSacraficed + BonesForRun;
ExpGained := ExpGained + XpForRun;
TripNumber := TripNumber + 1;

3. shorter code overall

4. better standards

5. More functions

6. Add some failsafes
I'll Look into this, i have an idea for it.

7. Remove the logic flaws (like in your walk back up method)
I don't see my flaw here, could you expand please.

8. TPA<=== I'm gonna need some help with this one.

No for quite a few reasons:

procedure WalkToBankBackUp;
var
x, y: integer;
begin
SymbolAccuracy := 0.5;
if FindSymbol(x, y, 'bank') then
MMouse(x, y, 2, 2);
ClickMouse2(True);
SymbolAccuracy := 0.8;
FFlag(1);
Wait(500+random(500));
end;
Spot the bug.

TerminateScript;
That's almost instant no. NEVER, EVER use terminatescript, unless you are out of players (read: add multiplayer). Besides that you should never leave the player logged in, always log out.

No functions made by you at all, everything is a procedure (or made by ACA/Aegis).

Tons of possibily infinite loops, here I'll highlight a few:

repeat
Wait(500);
until(InvCount = 7);
TakeBob;
repeat
Wait(500);
until(InvCount = 1);

I lol'd at this:

if UseSummoning = 'yes' then

Another mistake by you here:

end else
WriteLn('Finished Sacraficing, Banking.');
BoneSacraficed := BoneSacraficed + BonesForRun;
ExpGained := ExpGained + XpForRun;
TripNumber := TripNumber + 1;

So in short: Failsafes, multiplayer, watch your begin/end, cut the infinite loops out and maybe get some decent mainloop logic and use some functions in your script instead of it being all procedure.

Overal a nice start, but not there yet.

Having a go at TPA's atm.. Having no luck :P

EtherFreak

2012-04-12 00:34:05

Yes from me. You seem to have a good addatude. Some things I would like to see improved upon:
Failsafes, TPA usage, and most importantly non static wait times!

A constant wait time is very unhuman, and could increase the odds of being banned.

No from me, I would like to see use of things other than ObjFinding methods/functions in the next script(s) you choose to apply with. I am not a fan of DTM's and even though you think they're simple and effective to use, they hoard up memory. Anyway, good luck.

Markus has summed up it very well.

Btw, maybe first logout then terminatescript? I still do this a lot.

Yup i'll add that in.

I might not get time to reapply for a while cause of school :/

There's no ETA for SRL membership. Just do whatever you want as your real life allows for it. There's no need for a rush :)

You have every bit as much a right to vote as any other SRL Member. Plus, my standards are laxer than the current "standards" for an application so you're likely to be tough enough on people anyways.

Some people just think they know everything about, well, everything when in fact they don't :P I'm glad to see to exercising your right to vote and hopefully nobody has discouraged you. Any, and every vote is helpful especially when feedback is left.
