It seems i missed the boat on this one as the drop rate has been nerfed. But was the exp from them really that good?!

Is it also still worth doing now or not worth bothering about?

They used to be about a total of 150k from feeding them through every stage and the exp lamp at the end. And no it's worth effigy hunting for them but if you get one by chance through slayer or bossing definately pick it up

Yes the experience from them is quite good. I aquired about 5 in just about 4 days work in slayer. So about 1 per day. Fighting some boss monsters is a good way of getting these too.

EDIT: but then again, I do play the whole day about 10hours

You used to be able to cannon cavecrawlers and get atleast 1 per hour, and then stuff like this would happen. (Although I think this guy did slayer for his)

Such a shame that they nerfed them. It was my plan to get alot of effigy to get some easy slay level since I can't bot slayer.

At least we got the squeal of crap to somewhat make up for the effigy but it,s no where close to the amout of XP an effigy could give.

As a high ranking legit runescape player, I didn't like them. Made getting exp way too easy. :p

If you're so legit..why are you here? O.o Or do you legit play and script in your free time?

When i said legit I meant that specific account that is high rank not being botted. I bot on a different account. And yes I script in free time.

Effigy hunting is still worth but no as before, you should do slayer tasks and with this you will get effigies. It's what I do.

It was like 1 effigy every 65 minutes at cave crawlers. With 138 and steel titan like 1 every 60 minutes. Here you can read everything about effigies http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_effigies

It was definietly worth it. It cost like 2mil gp per hour but you gained 48k exp in RC for example and 500k exp in other skills as fighting and random skills.

If you could afford to hunt effigies it was worth it. I had 13 in my bank when the nerf was released. Got me 96 summoning though

Just curious tbh, seen all these videos of people "hunting" them and saying the exp is amazing and thought i would look into it. But alas, too late again
