Using Mouse to Walk?

Has anyone ever tried this. I have and I've been able to create working paths in the wilderness simply by noting down the co-ordinates of the Minimap and using them in Mouse. I don't know the reliability of this method as I've never used the same paths more than once - but I'm sure it's very reliable as co-ordinates never change(I think).

Your views on this?

Not very reliable since the camera need to be exacly like when the coordinates were taken, plus the minimap shift a little everytime it is loaded.

What you are suggesting is called blind walking I believe.

It works for short distances but as soon as you start doing long distance it becomes very easy to get lost.

However, if you keep the co-ordinates close to the center and close together then small shifts in the miniap shouldn't have much of an impact.

Also, I'm not sure there are any fully working methods of walking in deserts or the wilderness - wouldn't this be a buggy but working solution?

I use MouseBoxes in my Frost Dragon script to walk in my dungeon.

This could work much like a Satellite/GPS
Compass Degrees, -/+ Mouse Coordinate in comparison to the set directions exact degrees, How many tiles vs Distance of mouse from center of MM.
I don't see why you can't walk most places with high accuracy with this ;)

Hmmm, I'll use it as a backup walking method in my AirKrafter - RadialWalk isn't very reliable….

RadialWalk has always been the best option. (Before we had Reflection/SPS walking)

If you're going to use static walking, at least take into consideration the compass angle:

p := RotatePoint(Point(123, 456), -rs_GetCompassAngleRadians, MMCX, MMCY);
Mouse(p.x, p.y, 3, 3, mouse_Left);

Alright will do :)

If you're going to consider blind clicks you might as well use SPS.

IMHO ODTM walking would be better in wildness.

DDTM's work for me :D and MouseBox is great, just be careful with them (Not quite reliable but great use for failsafe's)!

SPS in wildy is quite bad, I had to create my own Map to get it to work.

Hmmm, It's been working OK so far.

Just don't add randomness… :p

I might use that type of walking, I guess as long as your start point is always the same it should be alright no?

Mhhm, I've been using it just fine in my latest script - but I'm just using co-ordinates rather than making boxes.

Oh well, still works :)
