Can we please not… it is already bad enough Jagex has access to our code, them seeing it run will only give them ideas in how to mess with the solvers and break them. Could you please remove that video and/or this thread, thank you

…they have the code that's all they need. They could run it hundreds of times on a RS test server of theirs.

3/5 people who come here cannot install Simba correctly or get the scripts to run, Im sure 5/5 people have the brain to watch a video. I don't really care, its more work for Coh3n, so do what you people want.

Its up to Coh3n tbh but things like this are unecessary, just aimed at increasing post count.

Code speaks way more to them then videos. Videos can be faked, code that works can't.

Yes but it's Jagex that you're worried about viewing these videos. Upon SRL being open-source they have all the information they need. I'm willing to bet they don't fall into the category of those "3/5 people who cannot install Simba correctly", I've a little more faith in them.

Videos do give visual proof of working scripts, even anti-randoms. People would want to see them to be reassured they do infact work, or atleast can work. It's not like Jagex will gain anything, by watching a video, that they didn't already know from our library. ;)

They probably busy updating the Graphics anyways, than being on YouTube ;)

So, Should we, or should we not grab vids?

While Jagex could watch and change colors based on the videos of our results, I'm willing to bet they have an active installation of Simba, and every other bot that works(hopefully none), so they can test the results of their work in combating bots.

With videos, everybody can analyze failed randoms, and upon seeing multiple of the same, maybe come to some conclusions as to what is causing the random.

Also, as flight said, users, I'm sure, would like to see that Simba does in fact work before they download and install it. But… Do we want that kind of audience?

Yeah sometimes that's the case, and I agree with it as well. There's a chance that your videos will draw the attention of a handful of people who can really appreciate the script and use it there on after correctly, but there's also, as it seems, a higher chance of drawing attention of the every day "Java-botters" who are quite accustomed to their push-to-play experience. They also bring that "better than everyone else" attitude along with them, and I very rapidly lose respect for people like this.

I don't blame you. They don't understand that we are not like PowerBot and all the others.

Here to get the most you have to participate. With more leechers, It just floods out good posts, like progress reports, bug fixes, etc.

Its great that you say thank you for a script, but it means a lot more If you help out ;]
