Yay! I got it running!

Did some searching, did a bunch of browsing - things kinda worked, but all the little things just didn't "come together" for me.

I was determined not to ask stupid questions though, and kept trying. Finally, I have the monkfisher running.

I suppose that the other scripts I've tried to run have been broken by Runescape's frequent updates. Now that I know I can actually make Simba and Smart do something, I'm off to see which other scripts are actually working!

Well done, I'm reaally happy that did not ask silly questions - it shows your intelligence and I respect that.

I'm glad you got it to work, have fun!

P.S - try to learn how to script as well, it is very easy if you are committed to it.

Good job, taking the time to get the answers yourself accelerates learning that much faster, so keep up the good work!

Whoot!

I was suffering the worst lag I had ever seen with this client. Kept playing around, trying to figure things out. I couldn't decide whether the client were at fault, or the virtual machine, or something that I hadn't even thought of yet.

Finally, I looked at system monitor. For some reason, Oracle virtual machines start up with a "nice" value of 3. Jeez, Louise! Reniced the VM process to -3, and suddenly things are looking very sweet.

I guess I should point out that I'm a distro hopper. I'm currently using Sabayon Linux as my desktop OS. If I were on Ubuntu or Debian, the VM starts with a lower "nice" value, and Runescape is very playable with default settings.

I'm on my way to autoing the hell out of Runescape!!!
