The IP means little nowadays. The person easily could've been under a VPN (likely, common practice among hackers).

My guess is you both went to a youtube link found in rs like "free 1b giveaway or new glitch". That youtube tells you to see how to do it via livestream: requires java access. A java drive by can get you ratted(the ratter can see everything your doing.
