Tournament Format

4-Round Swiss
All players will play all four rounds. There is no elimination.
(Find more information about the Swiss-style format here.)

Rules

[LEFT]1. All games are to be played in 30 minute per player format on the Funorb Chess website, which can be accessed here.

2. All game times are to be decided between each set of paired players via private messages on Villavu, Runescape, or Funorb. Do NOT use this thread to decide when you are going to play with your opponent!

3. Any game not completed within the allotted round time (five days) will result in a forfeit by both players unless proof of attempt to contact opponent is given.

4. Only one (1) game per pairing per round. No take-backs or restarts are allowed.

5. The use of any thing other than your brain to assist in chess playing is strictly prohibited. This includes other humans, chess books, chess engines, and/or databases.

If you suspect your opponent of cheating during the game, post a screenshot of the moves made during the game and review and appropriate action will be taken.

6.Game results must be posted on THIS forum, along with a screenshot of the final position of the game with both players' usernames visible.

LordJashin: Thanks for the feedback! Runescape username is the account you'll be using on Funorb so your opponent can find you when the time comes to play your game. You will need a valid, non-banned account to play on Funorb.

Boobies: Please use the registration format at the very bottom of the first post. Funorb chess is really self explanatory. I'll provide a link in the first post so you can check it out.

All: You can certainly make a new Account on Funorb just for playing there if you wish. There used to be a guest account feature, not sure if that is still possible or not. I even have a few old ones you can use.

Superuser: I primarily play on chess.com, so I considered it, but decided against it for a couple reasons. (1) It is a lot to ask 20 people to make an account and figure out how to use chess.com; Funorb chess is very simplistic and wouldn't require everyone to create a brand new account. (2) If it took place on chess.com, it would no longer have any connection to Jagex, and I would have to post this in the Off-topic section, which gets much less activity than the SRL Forums. (3) I am not a paid subscriber to chess.com so I cannot create my own tournaments.

I've changed the minimum players to 5 - it's possible to accomplish a full Swiss with People = Total number of rounds + 1.
